TNBA 15U,16U & 17U squads #simmiecolsonclassic

I met TNBA head coach and director Alex Richman a few years ago and we spoke about his vision for the organization so it’s always a plus for me to see the progression of players on the court and let me say this, I’m watching things with my own eyes so I got a pretty good look at the organization. I already dropped the 14U squad, and here are the others

Alana Yates & Raine Boyette

17U

Mila Rossini has taken her game to another level and her making the PGH Texas Day 2 Top Performers Tip Sheet shows she will be sending messages over the club season. Her poise under pressure and showing she could take over the game offensively was huge, and so was her scoring in transition

Laila Jackson used her athleticism on both ends. She was active on defense, did a good job on the ball but also attacked the basket and finished

Celina Valeriano can shoot it, mid to very long range and her ability to do that in transition, off picks, or creating her own shot was on full display. She also attacked off the dribble

Raine Boyette used her size, 6’3, nicely around the basket. She rebounded, on both ends and also ran the floor, on both ends. She also did a good job defending inside the paint. She finished inside the paint, she also saw the floor

Mikayla Curtis long and athletic guard that can rebound and handle the ball coast to coast and drop the jumper. She also attacks in the set, creates her shot from outside, and plays the passing lane

Sam Blount is long and athletic which will always be the base and her quick hands got her a few steals but she also played the passing lane. Nice first step enabled her to get by defenders and score by attacking the basket but her UPS had me SMH

Alayna Yates created some interior problems, well she’s 6’2, and she finished on putbacks as well as around the basket. She also attacked and finished from the wing strongly and played the passing lane

Laniah Thornton can play multiple positions, well. She handles the ball under pressure and has good court vision yet she creates her jumper and drops it from mid to long-range while being defended. Another plus is that she rebounds on both ends and handles the ball afterward. Good defender as well

PLAYER I MISSED

Jade Hypolite

BRIDGETTE MURPHY

16U

Addison Le used a deceptive first step to get the defender leaning so she could attack the basket. She also created her shot and handled the ball and saw the floor plus played solid defense

Cyra Narahari made the opening day PGH Texas Tip Sheet as her “poise under pressure” immediately stood out. She wanted the clutch shot and she nailed it while being defended but her playing the passing lane as well as seeing the floor also were nice

Bridgitte Murphy has good size, is 6’3, nice moves around the basket plus she finished but her rebounding on both ends and running the floor tells me a lot, especially when she defended in and outside the paint

Ayla Goins rebounds on both ends but get this, she keeps the ball high and understands how to get the break going with the outlet, I gotta drop #THROWBACK on that alone

Nyeema Harrington did a good job reading the floor and her playing the passing lane was nice, as well as her scoring off the dribble and seeing the floor, She also hit the boards

Madison Thach scored both off the dribble as well as with the pull-up jumper, both of which had a lot to do with her creating her shot. She also rebounded, in fact, she scored on putbacks

Hailey Brown scored off the dribble and finished strongly after contact yet her body control, as well as UPS tells me a lot about her upside

PLAYERS I MISSED

Rebecca Jaroz

Charlotte Kent

Madelyn Holy

MICHAYA ROBINSON

15U

Kylie Lou made PGH Day 2 Top Performers yet going back over my opening day notes, I failed to mention her crossover in the open court, and that in itself “drops the mic” for me. She stays under control and has good upside

Jennifer Hartman created her shot in the set and showed she could drop the jumper. She also handled the ball in the open court

Paige Rolls also handled the ball as well as showed good court vision but she dropped the jumper in the set and attacked the basket well

Kyla Felix handled the ball and saw the floor under pressure and made solid passes but her attacking strongly using either hand was nice

Michaya Robinson is “long and athletic which is still the base but factor in her height, 6’3, and DESIRE as she goes after EVERYTHING off the rim as well as loose balls, huge upside

Aarushi Saxena was “on the ball” baseline to baseline yet her energy on both ends was very good as she also took the defender off the dribble to score and saw the floor
