2019 Lady Bulldogs MS Tournament

WALLER, TEXAS- After hearing so much about Aniah Alexis, I needed to see her for myself because of the absolutely ridiculous amount of people who either say things and not know what they’re talking about and worse, repeating it and I try and be as professional as possible when I explain how this stuff works, I keep forgetting we are in a #PostLiterateSociety and some will believe just about anything but this young lady can definitely play, in fact after seeing her touch the ball for a few minutes, yeah, she’s not only a #D1Lock but has BCS potential and will step onto the court at Waller HS and make an almost immediate impact next season. Middle school basketball has never been something that just blew me away, that’s why I try and catch tournaments to see as many players as possible and several other players stood York MS

BROOKLYN ANDERSON

Asia Waddell was a pleasant surprise because I had no idea she would be there and watching her add aggressiveness to her game had me smiling. Yeah, she attacks and has the nice-pull up in traffic but the heat on defense, especially playing the passing lane, definitely has gone up. Alani Owens also showed me a lot of potential, but Brooklyn Anderson gave me several OMG moments as her upside is scary

McCullough MS

Regina Contreras has so much swag and has that “you can’t stop me” mindset, she’s a competitor that brings it while Savannah Knight is one of those few MS players that have shown me a solid no-look touch pass, plus she plays the passing lane and Campbell Biggerstaff like the soup that shares her name is going to really be mmm, mmm good as her length, midrange and ability to get to the rim combined with her upside will create some problems

'24 Merrill King and '24 Campbell Biggerstaff

MERRILL KING & CAMPBELL BIGGERSTAFF

A&M Consolidated MS

Merrill King shall be Queen of College Station basketball one day, I wrote on Prep Girl Hoops about Alexis from this event and Gwendlyn McGrew from San Jac Intermediate Tournament that I look at a number of things from younger players such as mannerisms, how they react to situations and the ability to do things instinctively and she passes those with flying colors while she’s flying for baskets. Charli Crowson also rebounded and showed the midrange to go along with her length and athleticism

Schultz MS

Hogan’s Heroes Sergeant Schultz knew nothing period and I know everything of that’s of relevance involving girls’ basketball talent so watching, man I hate doing this, S Douglas and E Shorter, I always love complete names so I can come back years later and brag about how smart I was but I missed the exclusion of the first name. What I didn’t miss was Douglas’ athleticism and ability to get to the basket and Shorter playing the passing lane

'24 Madison Moran

MADISON MORAN

Brenham MS

Halle Scheel just grabbed my attention early, she has a nice first step with good athletic ability enabled her to gets to the basket with ease while Madison Moran already knows how to use her body she can be overpowering on the inside and that combined with nice hands and footwork will definitely be a huge bonus when she gets to HS
