Katie Allen-New Team-Same Results

After helping lead Pittsburg to the OSSAA Girls Basketball Class B State Championship as a freshman, sharpshooter Katie Allen moved up to a higher Class with Mcalester. I have been keeping an eye on Oklahoma girl’s basketball since 2004 when I caught Earnesia Williams (Texas) and Danielle Gant ( Texas A&M) playing for Air Oklahoma in Virginia Beach for the AAU National Championship and guess what, Oklahoma is still OK churning out next level talent and Allen is part of that group

I first caught Allen a couple of years ago at the Texas PGH Top 250 Expo and it didn’t take me long to know what I was looking at. Yeah she could shoot the ball but it was the way she shot it and with her being “poised under pressure” and shooting the ball with confidence spoke volumes, well and er being able to “knock it down in the clutch”

Fast forward to now, she has been on a tear averaging in high double-doubles yet shooting an astounding 45% from BTA, not to leave out several buzzer beaters including one for a win only last week. The talented sophomore is a gym rat and her desire to get better shows because I’m like that other SC up North, I know wo has been working because I see progression
