Rumble In Texas Tip Sheet pt 2

I gave you 17 from the WNBA Division and I was only in attendance for some of Sunday’s action but always remember, there is no me and I still got a chance to catch some talented players. Special S/O to SA Lady Hoops (Silver) Mya Guzman for dropping 7 three pointers in a game on Saturday, I’ve seen her go completely off several times already but here you go

JOCELYN TATE

2022

Lakendra Waters (SMA) her pull-up jumper is sweet and it definitely creates problems for a number of reasons mainly because she understands how to create it and her release is quick and fluid so when you add she attacks and finishes…

2023

Taylor Moore (SMA) attacks the rim relentlessly and powerfully yet that power also is shown by her rebounding, applying pressure on the defense, and diving after loose balls on the floor, oh yeah, she takes punishment including charges

Ariana Rodriguez (SA Lady Hoops Black) two things, the pull-up jumper or the “floata” were clicking, and watching her play the passing lane over and over just made me smile

Mariah Dotson (SA Lady Hoops Black) showed the pull-up jumper, saw the floor well yet she also handled the ball under pressure and attacked and finished after contact

Aaliyah Cobb (SA Lady Hoops Black) I get a kick out of watching players that love to defend, I always wanted to score primarily yet her energy level was equally impressive because it stayed the same the whole game. Then she showed she could score off the dribble and create contact

Mercedes Perez (SA Lady Hoops Black) I totaled my Mercedes out yet I totally catch something different from her every time I see her. I knew she could shoot the three and attack yet that REVERSE layup after contact had me “drop the mic” well book

2024

Taylor Ross (SA Lady Hoops Black) I inadvertently omitted her which is why I take pictures and let me say this, I took notes yet she’s on the verge of something huge NOTED. She’s long and athletic and with her wingspan, tining, playing the passing lane, and flying through the air for baskets, all I can say is watch out

Miranda Garcia-5’4 G (SA Lady Hoops Silver) dropped multiple 3 pointers yet she found other ways to score by creating her shot to either attack and finish or shoot the midrange

Tyra Sotelo-5’5 G (SA Lady Hoops Silver) created problems on both ends and showed she could do more than drop the long ball as she took defenders strongly off the dribble and played the passing lane

Emily Carranco-5’9 F (SA Lady Hoops Silver) did a good job of rebounding on both ends as well as getting back on defense ad I guess her multiple blocked shots were the icing on the cake

Jocelyn Tate (All Arkansas Red) let me start with long and athletic because that’s the base and what she’s doing now makes her a #D1Lock and here’s why, She creates her shot very well, she elevates on her jumper and can knock the mid to long-range down consistently yet she’s explosive off the dribble and her first step sets everything up for her to attack the rim, let me also add she rebounds and plays the passing lane, defends well too

Kennedy McCray (All Arkansas Red) I guess her timing was the first thing that impressed me, she blocks alters, deflects, and rebounds on both ends, and watching her battle and get putbacks was neat

Tamiya Wesley (EBA) strong body enabled her to attack the rim and finish after contact yet her shooting set that of because if they gave her too much room, she dropped it from deep, 6 from BTA in front of me or near as I heard the bench sounding them off but I also love her upside

Jade March (EBA) I love seeing players play the passing lane, that’s definitely a pet peeve of mine so she does that, attacks the rim, and creates her shot and that enables her to drop the mid to long-range

Kailey Carr (Team Stay Ready Gold) long and athletic, yeah that’s the base and she attacks from just about anywhere, finishes not only acrobatically but after contact and she defends

2025

Brooklyn Siggers (Team Stay Ready Gold) did a very good job handling the ball and handling the pressure to see the floor and connect with teammates for assists. She also creates her shot to attack or take the jumper
