Cy Ranch repeats as SBISD Tournament champs
With three area events going on plus my trip to the Metroplex to see possibly three teams that will be in Austin when March comes around, to say I’m beat is an understatement. On Thursday morning against Clear Lake, I saw a very impressive Kingwood team who lost to eventual Lady Gander Tip-Off champions Pearland by only three. Later that day I saw a better than they looked before Cy Ranch team that was clicking on all cylinders and defending their SBISD Tournament championship to perfection averaging over a 25 point margin of victory and on Saturday Spring won the Conroe Tournament.
Let me hop back to Friday, which despite the drive and weather, the trip was worth it. McKinney North showed they are going to state, if not this season, no need to fret, those freshmen are legit so it will be done and with only one senior on Skyline’s team, if they don’t win R-2 this season, they have to be the frontrunner for not only winning it next season but the whole thing. One thing is for certain, as good as Ranch looked, I’m sure they’re thinking they can beat Manvel however It’s still Duncanville and everyone else but we will see “The Showdown” at the Texas Invitational when Manvel and Duncanville play for the championship, at least that’s what I’m thinking however nothing would excite me more than to be incorrect
Here’s the way the SBISD went down
