Swoosh and Cy Fair have 2017 gems

2013 CPC Swoosh Cy Fair

I was excited when I saw that Arlington Swoosh and Cy Fair Nike AC would be going at it on Saturday so I made my schedule to ensure I would see that game. Before I go any deeper into this, I want you that might have just start following me to understand I truly don’t care about who wins or loses a GBB game, what the margin of victory or anything else. Girlz Prep Report is here to identify players that have a chance to play at the next level, that’s the bottom line and please understand if your daughter has a chance to achieve that goal, that should be the only thing you’re concerned with at least from my point of view

The reason me seeing this game was important was mainly because of a saying I use over and over, it’s not what you do it’s who you do it against and both teams are solid and have several legitimate stars on each team and although Chennedy Carter and Tia Wright are probably the top players on each team, I have another saying, it’s not where you start it’s where you finish because it’s important to keep working on your game no matter where you are. Several players stepped up for the super shorthanded Cy Fair club which played with only six this weekend.

Wright was her usual spectacular self as well as Andrea Martinez, both have made tip sheets before however the supporting cast of Jade Compton, Stefanie Jackson and Alex Coleman stepped up big, in fact Coleman was in the running to be on the tip sheet this time however I decided Aakilah Caldwell-Tyle would get it this time, simply because she’s always in the running and she was huge in Cy Fair’s victory over the Swoosh in pool play

2013 CPC Swoosh Cy Fair 2

Even though the Swoosh lost, their talented squad didn’t fold and when you’re this young ad lose a grueling game like the one against the Shock, only to bounce back and win two games the next day and battle a very good Dallas Stars team in the Grand Championship, well that speaks for itself. The whole squad did well, I’ve mentioned everyone before so we all know they can play or you do now. My first look at Jilliane Faziane was a big one, she’s 6’1 with a solid body and she’s going to make some colleges take notice before it’s over.

The same can be said for several of her teammates, well for Cy Fair as well because many of these 2017 players are already among the best in the state and when you have numerous players stepping up, especially in big games, that’s huge. Kayla Wells was in the running for the tip sheet however Alesa Gerald just went off in so many ways Sunday but it doesn’t matter, all will have their special day. I loved watching Lauren Bowie and Kamaya Miller explode to the basket or Jary Ward nailing midrange jumpers or the athleticism from Haleigh Talbert and Taylor Watkins on both ends

Again Wright now, Tia and Chennedy are definitely high major prospects and every player on these teams has a shot at playing not only at the next level but D1, I’m calling I early on the Swoosh and Shock squads, even the ones missing. Hopefully you got the Wright because many of these young ladies are not only DYNOMITE, they have definite shot at blowing up in a huge way
