2013 Insiders Hoopfest Tip Sheet (WNBA)

2013 HF Jazz Ortiz

JAZZMEN ORTIZ

The Insiders Hoopfest proved once again that Texas has an abundance of talent and Louisiana isn’t so bad either. I’ve broke down my Tip Sheets from the various divisions and highlighted o a few stars and even though I’ve picked 10, there could have been at least 10 more in the top division alone

2014

Taylin Underwood-5’7 combo guard-Livingston Ladies

I can see how she has amassed over 2500 points in high school because this young lady did it all. Long or midrange, taking it to the hole, whatever her needed, she did and that’s why the combo tag fits her perfectly

Jazzmen Ortiz-5-6 guard-Austin Elite RFW

This is what her club coach said about her “she’s ready to get her name in lights, defensive dynamo with an improved offensive game.” Well there better plenty of them available because she shot the lights out throughout the tournament.

Courtney Brown-6-2 forward-Austin Elite Black

I list her as a forward because she can handle the ball, run the floor and finish. When you add the fact that she can the midrange elevates her next level appeal and her ability to shoot the three takes her even higher

Angel Williams-5’6 guard-Cy Fair Shock 16U Platinum

When I think about hard work paying off, Williams is one of the players that automatically come to mind. Not only she can score, she can do it in bunches and knocking down three threes in a minute lets you know what I mean

Crystal Chidomere-5-10 guard-Crossover Premier-Trey

Poetry in motion is the best way to describe this young lady as she moves gracefully and with poise, at least that’s she appears. Once a defender gets caught up in that, it’s turbo time and from flying by you or knocking them in from downtown, it’s crystal clear that she is a player

Gabrielle Odom-Lopez-5’9 guard-Houston Insiders Blue

Gabby’s offense caught my eye a couple of years ago however her strength, athleticism and ability to finish shows she has multiple qualities. Her long arms give her a wingspan compatible to a player almost 6’0 and she rebounds like she’s just that

2013 HF Shannon Evans

SHANNON EVANS

2015

Chastity Barrs-5’6 point-Texas Preps Elite-Blue

The game starts at the one and I gave Barrs numerous points on the things she did to not only get her teammates involved but set and raise the tempo when needed. You have players that handle the ball and those who handle it under pressure; she’s the latter and with the ability to create for herself makes her game even more potent

2016

Shannon Jones-5’10 PLAYER- Lady Houston Phenoms Elite

I listed her as a player because of her ability to play all five positions. This young lady has a chance to be considered for Top 100 recognition before it’s all said and done because she can handle the ball, score and rebound with the best of them

Tia Hairston-5’6 point-Austin Elite RFW

A point guard has to be smart because if they aren’t, you have a potential accident waiting to happen. The only accident happened with Hairston was landing on her back but as far as handling the heat, she controlled the thermostat throughout the tournament. With growth court vision, she sets up teammates for bunnies and she can score at will if she wants
