Buchel and Inman lead Seven Lakes to victory

Seven Lakes Inman and Buchel

Sydney Buchel and Christen Inman have played so long together that when I write about them I’ve finally gotten the correct spellings of their names down pat however the progression these two have shown has been a joy to watch. Inman was a “can’t miss” as far as being a next level player first time I saw her play while she was still in middle school, seventh grade. I recall one of my first conversations with her dad prior to her freshman season in high school and I told him she would be a Top 100 player on the national level and as usual, I hit it on the head.

I didn’t see Buchel in the seventh grade however it wasn’t long after and the thing that really impressed me about her was she simply outworked opponents as an undersized post. Her knowledge of the game is second to none in the area as she does several things that doesn’t appear in the box score and although Inman scored 28 in the their come from behind victory against Spring, Buchel played a major role other than adding 12 herself.

Whether it was a key rebound, assist or steal, Buchel seemed to come up with several huge plays and you have to wonder had she not torn her ACL during the worst time a basketball player could possibly do it, her junior season, you really have scratch your head on how high she could have gone. Is she a next level player, absolutely!

Inman signed with Northwestern and was one of the highest recruited players from the state for this class. Her game has simply continued to evolve as her ability to simply elevate over whoever happens guarding her is a beauty to behold in person. The ability to hit the midrange will always be an asset at any level and Inman can simply do it with the best of them

The “Dynamic Duo” came in together and helped turn this program around so it was no doubt that their senior leadership would be key in turning the game around last night  after falling behind by five after one, tying the game up at the half, going up four after three and both knocking the down clutch free throws down the stretch sealing the victory
