Martin sisters show “What’s Up”

Langhams Caylenne Martin

CAYLENNE MARTIN

I expected a blowout when Ozen played Barbers Hill in last season’s R4 4A final, I just didn’t expect Ozen to be the team to be blown out. Ironically on election night, the same thing happened as Langham Creek jumped on Pearland right off the top before a barrage of three pointers from the Oilers closed the gap at the half as they were down 22-21. Last night during the first half I tweeted “I thought the Martin show was cancelled, what’s up” after the twins, Caylenne and Corrine simply dominated the inside for the Lobos, combining for 43 of their teams points in their 59-34 victory. Caylenne almost outscored Pearland by herself, scoring 33 and after replaying the numerous blocks she had in my head, if she didn’t have a triple double, she was certainly close

I picked Pearland in my Top 10, I don’t waver or flip flop and I still believe before it’s all said and done they will be in the hunt for the area regional F4, they are just too talented. What I also saw was if the twin towers keep dominating the way they did, the Lobos will make a serious run for the playoffs. Keara Hudnall led the Oilers with 10 and one of their key players, Kaila Chizer, was away at state band competition. I’ll see the Oilers next week in the Texas Invitational at full force
