Basketball On The Bayou Up Next
IESHA SMALL(ESSENCE) and Brianna Turner (DFW T-JACK)
I’ve been rolling down to New Orleans for the Basketball on the Bayou event for over 10 years and I have always promoted it as a must stop for a number of reasons, primarily because it gives club coaches, parents and players a look at what’s going on in the real world of GBB. By that I mean although you may think such and such is the bomb, you will certainly see players who can truly explode. Also it’s a haven for college coaches to check out the talent and just like in Empire State of Mind, if you can make it here, well you get the picture
Kimberly Davis Powell of the Essence runs the event which was started by her husband Kelvin, and she has continued to do a great job. Kelvin in fact he is the person who talked me into starting my scouting service which shows what a true visionary he is.
Last season DFW T-Jack came together and won this event before heading to Nike Nationals to do the same thing and after watching T-Jack versus Essence in the Big State Flava finals, it might just happen again
