Carter adds more heat to Hendrickson

Sophomore Aliyah Carter left me somewhat speechless as I watched her playing club ball over the summer, in fact her performances had me add her to the PGH Texas Top 100 list for the 2023 class and with her move to Hendrickson, I knew it wouldn’t be long before she made an impression. You can’t teach speed, especially with the ball and you certainly can’t teach heart and desire and the energy she’s bringing off the bench has helped lead them to a 5 game winning streak as they prepare for state powerhouse Cibolo Steele on Friday in one of those games I wish I could see. In their recent win against Lake Travis who also features a couple of Top 100 players, Raven Boswell and Mia Galbraith, in the words of the writer, Carter came off the bench and added “endless energy” and that definitely hit it on the head

Special S/O to yet another PGH Texas Top 100 player, the amazing Zoe Nelson who at 6’1 can play all 5 positions, well, but seeing that she dropped 28 points is no surprise to me nor her taking the game over scoring 16 in an 8-minute span but I”ll close with this excellent quote.” She is a magician,” Hendrickson coach Norma Sierra said. “She can shoot from the outside, she can score inside, she can drive, she can rebound, and she plays excellent defense. People don’t realize how good defensively she is. She has it all, and when she’s on, it’s fun to watch.”
