Battle In Region 2 5A
The Woodlands had some impressive victories last season including one over highly regarded Atascocita. This season just might be there year as Paige Bradley, Anna Strickland and Kelsey Lang have their own version of “The Big Three” and with 6’4 Lang in the middle, they are not to be dismissed. Those three, along with Ashland Hargraves have a pretty good shot at making it to Austin
The other team with “The Big Three” may be a year away frommaking it to Austin but don’t sleep on those sensational sophomores Ekiyah Gray, Ebony Parker and Regina Scott. Scott will move over to the two as Desiree Davis runs the offense
Klein Collins has Veja Hanilton and Dominique “Double D” Dillingham and if both of them stay healthy, they can make some noise. Infiniti “Peanut” Haris has battled her way up the ranks and appears to be ready for a breakout season which would bolster their chances
Dekaney is another team that has a shot a doing some big things. Alexis Durley, Amber Driver, the Nevitt sisters, Shunta and Kayla, plus the return of a healthy Brianna Turner means trouble, not to mention track sensation Jaleesa Chappel, this might be the most athletic team in the area.
The Taz, The Taz, The Taz. Curtyce Knox will be out until probably the first part of January so that means the burden will fall on the hands of fellow seniors Lauren Price and Rachel Arthur. Cree Hammond moves up the ranks and could be the spark they need until Knox get’s back.W
