2019 Rock Nation Basketball #SpaceCitySlam
ELAINE KING
HOUSTON, TEXAS- Rock Nation brought some heat from around the Round Rock area to Prime Time Sportz Space City Slam last weekend and it was a welcome surprise because the days were chilly and the excitement from several of their players revitalized me, especially late Saturday when that energy drink just wasn’t getting it done. Ran into Roy Green and his talented daughter Taylor who coached Rock Nation CP, watched Taylor pre-MS go off numerous times during her career and her dad’s energy has not lost any juice the 15 or so years I’ve known him. Several of their players definitely sent a message Megan Pish and Izzy Lynch showed me a lot in a short time, Angie Sacco uses her size well on both ends of the court and Elaine King left me speechless at times
JAYDA ANDREWS & AMYRIE EVANS
Their RNB 2022 BLUE also had a variety of talented players, Amyrie Evans, Jazz Cyphers and Mya Stogin to name a few while RNB 2021 RED had a few of their own that kept me into it. Londyn Steere playing the passing lane and attacking the rim hard, Mikayla Johnson throwing no looks while threading the needle and the athleticism and effort from Ayana Otero definitely got the adrenaline going, mine, because I really like the simple things of yesteryear because basketball is a simple game if you get it and several throughout the organization definitely got it and Sally Tuatagaloa and got “it” a lot because when you battle for everything ………
SALLY TUATAGAOLA
RNB 2022 RED is a talented a very talented squad of freshmen and are coached by someone else I’ve known almost forever, Chris Carter who enjoys “teaching” the game, well Saniyah Kendrick is an 8th grader and Mikah Johnson is a 7th grader yet I wouldn’t have known because of their poise and mannerisms. Alex Neimeth gave me my first live look and although her name and game preceded her, to say I was impressed would be an understatement and when you do a lot of different things well while getting yours in the flow, at this stage, that’s huge
JALYN PRICE
What else was huge was Lexi Alexander shooting the mid to long well and exploding off the ground for rebounds. Devduni Perera with the “catch and shoot” from deep, Kamryn Weddington battling and Jalyn Price attacking and playing the passing lane, what more could I ask to see. Well Jakayla Thompson who along with a few others made my ever so important Tip Sheet but guess what, I’ll get a better look next weekend at the Heart of Texas as well as the Tyrone Johnson Showcase in June and the All Eyez On Me camp the night before, until then, keep working cause I’m definitely looking
