2018 Capital City Top Girls Invitational Exposure Camp Tip Sheet
LEANDER, TEXAS- The Capital City Top Girls Invitational gave me a fresh look at a variety of talented players from Texas I had seen and a new look at many I hadn’t had an opportunity to catch live and one thing I do when I cover any type of an event is to observe as much, from a variety of players, I’ve always done this and I always will because talent is everywhere, providing you know what you’re looking at so with that being said, here is a breakdown from the event
2019
Atyanna Freeman-5’8 guard (Elgin HS) athleticism galore, gets to rim with ease and finishes, creates her shot, good speed is another plus and she plays the passing lane well
Aoria Rattler- 5’6 guard (Crockett HS) savvy player that makes plays on both ends, showed she could knock down shots, especially a consistent midrange
Zakiyah Upshaw-5’8 guard (Kileen HS) one of the most physical players at the camp, loves applying pressure as well as follows her shot, attacks well, plays passing lane and has a nice midrange jumper
2021
Anaya Freeman-5’9 forward (Elgin HS) brings so much intensity on both ends of the court, pressure defender, athletic and defends baseline to baseline. Also showed she could score
Courtney McWilliams- 5’6 forward (Crockett HS) plays bigger than size, understands positioning herself which enables her to rebound against taller opponents, physical
Emma Zion -5’11 post (Westwood HS) good size, strong body and even more importantly, knows how to use it as she finishes well and can get to the rim from different angles
Eriny Kendrid-forward (Del Valle HS) plenty of weapons offensively, midrange, creates her shot under pressure, attacks basket and she’s long and athletic and creates problems on defense
Faith Phillips- 5’11 forward (San Marcos HS) not only does she defend; she enjoys it and can do it inside and on perimeter. Finishes strong on the inside, with contact
Trinity McGarity-5’6 guard (Homeschool) energy galore as she brought plenty of heat , battles on the boards, nice midrange and gets to the basket easily
Kate Gordon-5’6 combo (Lake Travis HS) showed she could play both guard spots, understands how to run team and shot the midrange well all session
Lanay Fuller-5’10 wing (Hendrickson HS) uses size very well, good hands and footwork is always huge with size and she finishes multiple ways
Lillian Guerva-5’10 guard (Hays HS) big guards are always a plus, especially when they can score and she does that, either off the dribble or from midrange plus she defends well
Zoe Nelson-6’0 guard (Hendrickson HS) size, athleticism and college ready body are always good but she has the tools to dominate on both ends, scores inside, outside and can be a nightmare to defend, plus she defends
Danyelle Adamez (Cedar Creek HS) plays within herself, battles for loose balls and rebounds, showed she could hit the outside shot and got to the rim numerous times
2022
Alyssa Gonzales (Luling HS) was always in the mix, either on the floor or going after rebounds, defends and showed she could score from outside
Belicia Martinez-5’4 guard (Incarnate Word HS) poised on the court, scored at will and the spin move was icing on the cake, well her range is the candle because cake was lit
Deja Hinson-5’5 guard- nice package of offensive weapons, stutter step in the open court, mid to long range, attacks strong but that step back with pressure …..
Jamyria Ramsey-5’3 guard (Weiss HS) explosive first step, understands how to create her shot and can score attacking or outside, sees the floor, handles ball under pressure and defends
