NEENAH GEORGE

DUNCANVILLE, Texas-There is nothing I love more than watching talented basketball players and when they’re young and truly understand the basics and then some, well that’s even more enjoyable and if you’re new to me and what I do, I’ll keep it simple, I don’t care about which team wins or loses a game, my job is to identify players who can play at the next level and if you’re fortunate enough to do that, well that’s the biggest win of all, especially if you graduate. Based on what I saw from this talented Cy Fair Shooters 2024 squad, many on the right path to the next level, so I thought I’d do something special, especially since they took the time to email me their rosters beforehand, so here we go.

'24 Cy Fair Shooters Wooten

CHEYENNE WOOTEN

Hannah Carr and Neenah George both do a good job of seeing the floor and making the right passes, in fact Carr threaded the needle for an assist to send the game into one of the overtimes, it was three in this particular  game, but both not only handled the ball well, they did it under pressure. Candace Miller’s athleticism paid dividends throughout the game, love her upside as well as what I’m hearing about Yves Cox who recently joined the team. Cheyenne Wooten gets to the rim at will, deadly first step and she’s fast with the ball but watching Brynn Lusby anticipate passes while also playing the passing lane was something to see, she has quick hands as well.

Leaire Nicks just showed me a variety of weapons she had.  She’s long, which is definitely a plus, and she can not only finish but finish with contact.  Not only was her ability to rebound on both ends huge, her desire to go after everything will expand her options down the road, but that desire was prevalent throughout this squad, they just wouldn’t quit. Back to back threes from Emily Diaz got me going early in the second half and was a definite momentum changer and what can I say about Kennedy Evans that I haven’t tweeted, well a whole lot. This young lady has the “it” factor and you can read about it on Day 2 Tip Sheet from DFW Elite’s March Fest coming up tomorrow
