Crosby gets it done in R-3

2016 Crosby HBU girls

HOUSTON, Texas- Crosby advanced to San Antonio in a victory over defending regional champions Rudder but that’s sort of how I had it in the preseason. I knew Rudder would be in the mix but Crosby had four D1 locks including incoming freshman Brianna Johnson who ironically hasn’t played this season due to an injury. In their win over Magnolia on Friday night, they really didn’t look crisp however Shannon Jones and Ta’Niya Gibson both scored in double figures to help them pull it out 56-51

They jumped out Rudder, who had beaten Barbers Hill in a tight one on Friday, 20-2 however Rudder came back with several runs, closing it to within one a couple of times but big baskets from a variety of players saved the day. Jones, an HBU signee, once again was the leading scorer with 23 points and I sort of did the Mike Jones remix using her name because “back then they didn’t know her” yet I did before she score her first basket in high school and now she’s hot  and several school are going to wish “they were all on her”

Paris Netherley is a D1 lock as well; I guess she was in the sixth or seventh grade when I called it but the 2018 star has plenty of time and options ahead and her 16 points came at the right time stopping many runs. Another young lady I knew early that was a legitimate D1 player is Sydney Carr, who will be joining Jones at HBU added 12 and hit several big shots when they were needed but several of the young ladies simply played big and filled in the blanks and that’s why they’re going to state
