2029 Girls Jr Phenoms Top Performers

Alivia Williams

Williams showed she could drop the jumper in the set as well as in transition and her “stop and pop” will be a huge plus for her over the years. She also did a good job of setting the defender up by using the slight HEZ, hesitation to go along with her deceptive first step. In the open court, she also showed the COP, change of pace, to get past the defender so call the law

Anastasia Villegas

Villegas plays bigger than her listed size which is always nice to see yet I’m dropping the #THROWBACK hashtag because of her “hands and footwork” which allowed her to score around the basket with ease. She rebounded on both ends, understands positioning, and finished on putbacks, but she also attacked the basket and finished after contact

Ayla Williams

Williams showed good court vision in the set as well as in transition yet her understanding of positioning enabled her to not only outrebound taller players but score on putbacks over them. She also attacked the basket strongly to finish with good body control, yet watching her create her shot under pressure and drop it was nice, and so was her step back. On top of that, her defense was solid and she played the passing lane

Brianna Biggerstaff

Biggerstaff showed good court vision as well as decision-making immediately, both in the set as well as in the open court yet watching her set the defender up to either attack, which she did numerous times and finished after the lick, or drop the jumper which she also did and with a hand in her face. She also dropped the jumper in transition and she too played the passing lane

Caitlyn Cowart

Cowart used a slight HEZ to get by the defender to score off the dribble, her body control helped her finish after contact but she also did a good job to create spacing and drop the jumper in the set. Her pull-up jumper in transition was a plus, she even gave me a good “catch and shoot” look yet I was also impressed with her timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots

Chloe Rivers

Rivers is a couple of inches shy of “the magic number” which is 6’0 in case you didn’t know. Her timing was also impressive and watching her not only block shots but go after the ball afterward had me smiling. She uses her body nicely in the paint, she’s strong and finishes strongly but her keeping the ball high to score was nice, and so was her rebounding and handling the ball in the open court

Elayana Levin

Levin gets the #THROWBACK hashtag for BATTLING taller players and another for #sizedontamtter because she can play. Watching her rebound over and over against taller players falls into that something you can’t teach and that’s DESIRE but she handled the ball under pressure, had solid court vision in the set and she created her shot to drop the jumper

Gabrielle Gibson

Gibson showed she could put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways starting with her being strong and taking the defender off the dribble hard was nice, and so was her finishing after the lick. Her pull-up in the set was solid, she dropped with the defender all over her yet she also did a good job of scoring in transition with the pull-up, mid to long-range. Her step back needs to be mentioned because it created problems

Hailey Trader

Trader has timing down so many times and rightfully so because either using her hands, blocking shots, or playing the passing lane, she read the court well to go along with “on the ball” pressure. She plays taller than her height, outrebounded and scored over players yet her handling the ball and going coast to coast to score or dish was nice, yet her court vision was also good in the set

Makayla Williams

Williams is “long and athletic” and always remember that is the base for one of the profiles I love to evaluate, more importantly so do many college coaches. Her intangibles are she attacks explosively off the dribble and is under control on her finishes, after contact. Her court vision was solid both in the set as well as in the open court yet going full speed in transition she showed the HEZ to get by the defender

Natalia Robertson

Robertson just amazed me at some of the things she did around the basket at her size yet “hands and footwork” have been working forever and watching her score in the paint over much taller players gets her the #THROWBACK as it takes me back to another era. She understands positioning which helped her rebound on both ends, she scored on putbacks and handled the ball in the open court

Capri Swann

Swann scored off the dribble, her first step was nice because she added a little something extra to get the defender off balance, which is also how she finished using good body control. She also did a good job creating her shot under pressure and even more importantly, she knocked it down with a hand in her face. Another place was her ability to catch and shoot it from mid to long range

Parker Bailey

Bailey saw the floor very well but she was one of the best hustlers over the 3 days as she went after loose balls as well as rebounds, yes she’s #sizedontatter and understands positioning, yet again, you can’t teach desire. She scored off the dribble and her body control was solid as it helped her finish after contact but peep this, she dropped the mid to long-range while being defended

Payton Nunn

Nunn immediately had my attention with her aggressiveness on the defensive end and when you start off applying “on the ball” heat baseline to baseline, I’m zoned in. She rebounded on both ends, yes she got positioning and but she already gets it and that’s a big plus because she has that “you won’t outwork me” mindset. Her first step was strong as well as her finishes after contact

Peyton Mercer

Mercer was another feisty player that seemed to be wherever the ball was at the right time defensively and her hands got her some steals because she applied pressure defensively. She also handled the ball afterward and her court vision as well as decision making stood out as she threw on the passes in traffic yet she also set the defender up nicely to score off the dribble

Sariyah Rios

Rios is one of those energetic players that ignites her teammates. Yes, she’s #sizedontamatter and what really didn’t matter was who she was g\uarding because she was among the top defenders at the camp. Her baseline-to-baseline pressure was part of it yet she beat the offensive player to the spot, that’s BIG. She played the passing lane, handled the ball, and saw the floor afterward but she also dropped the midrange consistently

Saylor Jensen

Jensen has a variety of ways to set the defender up including a deceptive first step, as well as the HEZ yet she also showed the STUTTA to get them to lean and when they did, she either attacked off the dribble to score or drop the jumper. She also showed the crossover in transition and that, coupled with her “stop and pop” had my adrenaline going but so did her playing the passing lane and quick heads for steals

Zalise Davis

Davis was another “long and athletic” player that gave me a lot to see and starting with her rebounding and going coast to coast to score, while being defended was nice yet so was her playing the passing lane and either scoring or hitting teammates, yes her court vision was solid. She also attacked the basket in the set, had nice body control, and acrobatic finishes after contact, plus her defense was solid

Zo’e Archie

Archie created her shot well under pressure to either score by attacking the basket or dropping the jumper. She finished after contact and her jumper usually had a hand in her face yet she stayed with it. She also handled the ball and saw the floor, both under pressure, but on the flip, she applied heat defensively “on the ball” baseline to baseline
