2027 Pass Tha Ball #Next100 Duncanville Tip Sheet

DUNCANVILLE, Texas- It’s all about progression with me, no fake numbers by names, no nonsense about who you play or train with, I just keep it real and so did this Super 7 group who many I caught for the first time and are on the right path while a couple of others continue to solidify what I said about them that initial sighting

MIA RODRIGUEZ

Casey Chavez (Player First) continues to show that she’s not only a #D1Lock but throw away the key, she’s that good and to the novice that doesn’t see greatness developing at a young age, just watch because her poise is off the chart, she goes against older players who are locked in a major way and her jumper is just hard to handle, one of the best mid-range shooters in Texas, any age, right now but she also scores off the dribble using great body control and her defense, as well as playing the passing lane is very good

Sydney Hughes (Texas U) she looked familiar yet is nowhere to be found when I use my search bar, usually because of a non or erroneous roster being turned in so I generally keep it moving but I caught her on center stage, which is wherever I’m evaluating and watching her create her shot under pressure told me a lot, especially since she knocked it down with ease and this included the “stop and pop” in transition but she also handled the ball and scored off the dribble, she also saw the floor well

Angel Pursley (DC Queens) that first step is going to create some problems down the road, well it’s creating them now but as she gains strength to go with everything else, the damage will be done on the court. She’s 5’4 and rebounded over taller players, wait she also dove on the floor for loose balls, let me drop #THROWBACK for both of those, and when I add she hustles and falls into that “never takes a play off” type of player, you sort of get it but she can score off the dribble or with the jumper

Mia Rodriguez (HG Elite) plays within herself, understands how to contribute while doing things that might not show up on a score or stat sheet yet she also did a good job scoring in the flow which was nice. She handles the ball in the open court, she makes good passes and she has a nice pull-up jumper but her deceptive first step got the defender off balance, this enabled her to go by the and either score off the dribble or dish off the dribble yet her defense was solid, even played the passing lane

NAOMI JOHNSON

Naomi Johnson (SA Lady Hoops/Duke) is one of those players I have come across over the years that just left a lasting first impression in fact the first time I saw her was at a #Next100 event and her smoothness, poise and just going after it all stood out and when you have that, the intangibles add value like her “smothering defense” or diving “on the floor” for loose balls yet her jumper, mid to long-range is something that needs to to be respected because she can go off at the blink of an eye, her body control gives her acrobatic finishes and she sees the floor quite well

Avery Billotte (DC Queens R) kind of left me speechless watching her “lead the player” with passes on the break, that is HUGE so her court vision, ballhandling, and just comprehension was enough yet it wasn’t all because she did a good job of creating her shot, under pressure and attacking the basket while finishing after contact however she also used that same creativity to drop the jumper, usually with a hand in her face. She also did a good job of defending, on the ball, baseline to baseline

Zanay Kearney-huge upside because I can see the DESIRE and that’s something you can’t teach. It’s important to let the development play out and what she’s showing now coupled with her frame and athleticism, she’s definitely on the right path. She goes after the ball off the rim, she finishes around the basket, putbacks included and she did a good job on the interior defending so yeah, I love her upside and I can see the POLAROID coming, that means game developing right before my eyes
