2021 Battle In The Alamo 16U Division Tip Sheet

This closes out the event, or does it, nevertheless, find me on social media under, guess what @girlzprepreport

ELYSSIA BROOKS & JOURNEY TAYLOR

Elyssia Brooks (Lady Sharks National) SWB is the acronym I use for “speed with ball” and she does it under control to attack, attack, and dish or pull-up and drop the jumper but her finishes are also acrobatic and that first step is hard to handle

Journey Taylor (Lady Sharks National) attacks from, well anywhere and she does it with power yet stays under control but her power also stands out defensively when she applies pressure as well as rebounding, on both ends

Tiara Louis (SA Lady Arnold Elite) first step is nice, it enables her to attack with either hand and finish with either hand but she has also had a nice pull-up jumper and handles the ball well

Faith Ramirez (Houston United Energy 16U) attacked the basket strongly from a variety of angles and did a good job finishing, including after contact yet her intensity on both ends definitely stood out as well

Ivy Powell (CE Elite 2024 Black) I love progression and watching her a few times this season, she has definitely improved and her attacking the rim with power just brightened my day, well after the finish but she also did a good job of scoring in the flow

Niyah Waters (CE Elite 2024 Black) smoothly elevating her game by the event and she’s beginning to realize she’s hard to handle because she is. Scores off the dribble elevates on the jumper, mid to long-range, and plays the passing lane

Iyanana Billups (CE Elite 2024 Black) is another SWB guard that throws blazing passes on the money yet her “speed with ball” also enables her to blow by defenders for layups or mix it up with the jumper

JULIA BARAJAS

Julia Barajas (SA Lady Hoops CBlue) watching her spin on defenders definitely got my adrenaline going but this is a very solid young squad filled with talent and her attacking and finishing after contact was very nice

Kayla King (SA Lady Hoops CBlue) KK means Keeps Koming at you and since I made up a word, let me also add that her jumper is ahead of her years, she plays within herself yet can take over offensively numerous ways and she still isn’t anywhere near the finished product, which is scary

Zaranique Nealy (SA Lady Hoops CBlue) is one of the most athletic and acrobatic young players in the state, her finishes are Barnum and Bailey worthy and although she attacks with power, she’s under control, and let’s not leave out her jumper which she drops with ease

Gabryela Galvan (SA Lady Hoops CBlue) one of the best at “playing the passing lane” before high school I have seen, I can’t make this stuff up, well I could but I don’t and she finds ways to put the ball in the basket but her BB-IQ keeps her well rounded and a threat multiple ways

Dejah Dudley (SA Lady Hoops CBlue) huge coming-out event as she was simply a #BEAST on both ends which is scary because I’m seeing jumps in her game every event I catch them and her desire and power going after that ball is something you can’t teach

Kirsten Hartman (Fredricksburg Pride) I call her “the baby” yet she’s not a bay on the court. Like her older sister Ella, that poise on the court just grabs me and she delivers either by scoring or assisting yet her “heady” play and controlling the tempo is, well very good

TYRA SOTELO

Tyra Sotelo (SA Lady Hoops Silver) is heady and understands how and when to take the shot yet her mid to long-range, as well off the dribble comes up big even if she chooses to do it in the flow, also hit some clutch shots

Sincere Jackson (SA Lady Hoops Silver) power and upside coupled with DESIRE are all things you can’t teach and I love seeing players follow the ball off the rim and not be cemented in one spot, she follows and finishes, after contact

Taylor Ross (SA Lady Hoops Silver) long and athletic, rebounds, sometimes snagging the ball out the air yet her timing to block, alter and deflect as well as her finishing off the dribble or on putbacks was nice

Miranda Garcia (SA Lady Hoops Silver) has been on a 3 point tear just about every game I’ve caught her in and watching her create her shot under pressure is nice, so is her attacking as well as attacking and dishing

Alaysia Gude (Waco United 2025) is long and athletic and can throw passes on the money the length of the court, with either hand, that ain’t easy yet she also can do it in the open court, and her finishes, acrobatic and after contact, with either hand but that pull-up jumper in transition keeps em guessing because her first step is…

CeMaria Kelly (Waco United 2025) love her upside which translates to her ceiling has no roof as she is p[laying up yet you’d never know. She can score off the dribble or drop the jumper but she also plays the passing lane very well

Solange Loadbolt (Waco United 2025) she’s one of those “never takes a play off” type of player and her energy trickles down to her teammates. Yeah she scores off the dribble but the jumper looks nice, so does her putbacks after rebounding, she does that on both ends

Abby Norris (Waco United 2025) understands how to set the defender up and just drop the jumper in their face, with a hand in hers so creating her shot, shooting around the screen, and to be honest, that “catch and shoot” is looking pretty good yet she also attacks and finishes

Tynia Minnit (Waco United 2025) is heady and very athletic yet #sizedontmatter because she can play and I’m not lying, she outjumped a 6’0 player for a rebound, that did it for me but her ability to control the tempo and run a team is solid, so is her jumper and she can score off the dribble
