2014 60/60 Combine wrap
DUNCANVILLE, Texas-I’ll close out the 2014 John Lucas 60/60 Combine with the way I started Girlz Prep Report and that’s with Texas players. I started promoting Texas basketball years ago and even though my methods may have been unorthodox, people took notice and now we have numerous national evaluators coming to Texas to cover girls’ basketball not to mention three Nike teams spread out in the state and before my rants there were none. The state has always produced talent however I’ve found that several states have talented players that go unnoticed for whatever reason but the main thing is to try and find a way get it done.
John Lucas is about to take girls’ basketball to yet another level, I love his vision and I appreciate him asking me to be a part of this and just by observing what’s he’s done in the span of less than a year with the 40/40 Camp, talented BCS players from around the country, The Last Run, over 70 college coaches from across the country and the 60/60 Combine which featured some of the best middle school players I’ve seen, all I can say is put on your seat belts and get ready for the ride.
The Combine was so talented, every player in attendance has been mentioned in one way or another; please utilize the search bars on both girlzprepreport.com and my blog girlzprepreport.blogspot.com because there’s a wealth of information out there.
I’ll close with three 2018 players from Texas that you’ll be hearing about in the future
Taelor Pruitt-5’8 guard-Crowley TX– Not only did Pruitt see the floor well; she knew how to get the ball to right person on offense. Good ball handler that got to the basket time and time again not to mention she was exceptional during the drills
Jessika Espinoza-5’11 forward-El Paso TX– Espinoza is almost at that magic number of six feet which more times than not assures a scholarship somewhere because many college coaches love that number. Throw in the fact that she can hit the mid and long range shots, plus put it on the floor to score.
Lexie Graham- 5’4 guard-Houston TX-She already knows how to set defenders up and this enabled Graham to take them off the dribble numerous times. She scored well attacking the basket, nice change of pace plus a floater but when she did that spin move, I got excited
