Williams helps Lady Hawks soar

Arkansas Lady Hawks Eckerman and Monk

JASMYN ECKERMAN & MALICA MONK

Another one of the most anticipated match-ups of the day was between two of the top posts in the 2015 class, 6’5 Angelina Williams (Arkansas Lady Hawks) and 6’7 Tierra McCowan (DFW Elite-Butler). To say these two players are vastly different is putting things in perspective because McCowan has become simply a beast in the paint and the once timid young lady is now a terror. That has nothing to do with Williams who can do multiple things such as bring the ball down the floor and shoot the three but before someone does another comparison, she is not Danielle Adams but no one else either. Williams created some problems in the tournament and the great thing about her is she has time for that rawness to ripen. To be honest several players from that squad are playing at the next level. Jae’lissa Allen is 6’3 with an athletic build, Alivia Huell can take you off the dribble and shoot the three, Dominique Miller handled the ball extremely well while knocking them down from long range and Tiffany Murdock was simply tough, went after everything in front of her and all are from 2014’s. A couple of other 2015 players, Jasmyn Eckerman and Malica Monk have several of my trademark stars by their names, sort of a GPR cheat sheet on certain things they did exceptionally well for their ages, and it also tells me that although they are pretty good right now, there is not telling how they will wind because they have a lot of potential to do big things.
