Wiemann sets scoring record

If ever Cy Ranch needed a win, it was now because not only are they  in the toughest district in Region 3, District 17, they are also coming off back to back losses against Cy Woods and Cy Falls. Before the losses, I called the Mustangs one of the top five teams in the city however a season ending injury to Sydney Coleman may have made their chances of getting to Austin a lot slimmer, they are still a team loaded with firepower offensively and when you have players that can put up numbers, multiple players at that, you can create a lot of problems for a lot of defenses

I called Cy Ranch the new “Bomb Squad” and because of Cy Falls success over the years and with the arsenal the Mustangs possess, it seemed logical. Last night, all bets are off and even though the Mustangs dropped out of my Top 5 list, they showed before it’s all said and done they may return.

Ashlyn Wiemann broke the school record for points scored in a game dropping 28 points while Kristen Kech added 19. These two young ladies, along with Ashley O’Block are all charter members of the GPR “I dropped ten threes in a game” club and more importantly, their teams win over Langham Creek keeps them only one game behind first place Cy Falls and Cy Fair in the loss column

As huge of a game this was for Kech, Wiemann needed it in the worse way after battling nagging injuries, the GPR “Under The Radar” player knows she can shoot and score with the best of them and now she’s proved it
