UTR Stars From Frisco #HeartOfTexas

SALENA CARASCO

Days 2 and 3 had me posted up at the Frisco Fieldhouse to catch more Under The Radar stars you may not know much about but the countless players I covered from not only Texas but from Louisiana to California, as well many other states will be dropped on PGH Texas but right now, here ya go

Ashna Tambe-5’7 PG (Team Lex 17U 3SSB) Hockaday [2024]

Tambe has continued to show progression since I caught her initially before high school and right then, I dropped #D1Lock on her. Fast forward to now and with over 20 Division 1 offers alone, her poise under pressure simply stands out as she handled the pressure with ease against some of the top teams in the event. Her court vision as well as clutch shooting, mid to long range, along with her leadership, and being vocal on the court

Kianna Henning-5’6 PG (SAHE) Cornerstone [2024]

Henning’s intensity on both ends can change the momentum in the blink of an eye. She starts games off diving for loose balls on the floor and her “on the ball” defense, “baseline to baseline” helps create turnovers, and so do her quick hands. She handles the ball and sees the floor in the open court making pinpoint passes from over 20 feet but her stop-and-pop jumper as well as scoring off the dribble gives her a nice mix

Joemoriah Ben-5’7 PG (Houston Hoops United Blue) Sterling [2024]

Ben falls into that “never takes a play off” type of player as she simply goes hard from start to finish. She understands how to set the offensive player up to commit and her taking the charge over and over had me smiling. The smothering defense isn’t all that she brings to the table, her first step is hard to handle and that, coupled with her acrobatic finishes makes her hard to contain, especially since she has the mid to long-range down

JAMARI MILTON

Salena Carasco-5’7 PG ( Team Lex 16U 3SSB) Boswell [2026]

Carasco sold me in the 7th grade and I have a knack for knowing what’s coming because her doing things instinctively as well as how she reacted in certain situations, against much older players, told the story. Well, it’s turning into a novel, and watching her set her teammates up for “gimmes” was extremely nice, especially in the open court yet she also came out dropping it from deep, her mid to long range is solid, and she also scores and (or) dishes off the dribble

Jamari Milton-5’7 CG (Team Lex 15U 3SSB) North Crowley [2026]

Milton is one of the most explosive guards in her class off the dribble and her being able to take the defender strongly with either hand gives her options, especially since she can pass or finish with either hand going full speed. She showed the jumper as she elevated over the defender and dropped it with a hand in her face, keep in mind she was going on a slightly sprained ankle yet if I hadn’t known, I wouldn’t have because her defense was like the event #HOT

Madison Moten-5’6 CG (Houston Wildcats) Willowridge [2026]

Moten fills in many blanks for whatever team I’ve caught her playing on and her unselfishness always stands out as she understands how to get hers “in the flow” and she plays “within herself”. She sees the floor both in the set as well as in transition, her passes are crisp in traffic and on the money yet her deceptive first step enables her to get by the defender to attack the basket or drop the pull-up jumper

Bailey Burns-5’10 F (Cy Fair Premier 15U) 2027

Burns continues to show she can score multiple ways and as she gets ready to head into high school next season, using her body to overpower smaller players will come in handy. She’s strong and is finishing stronger after contact, this includes putbacks and yes, she can rebound on both ends. She also can handle the ball in the open court after rebounding and her dropping the long ball as well as attacking off the dribble keeps getting better
