Unsigned Za’Kenya Thompson SPRINGing Upwards

Thompson is one of my PGH Texas Top 100 Unsigned seniors and with her also being an Under The Radar player, read my definition in the article, she brings so many things to the table you can’t teach. It amazes me how certain kids are being overlooked yet with the hype and the “new experts” overlading social media, well I told you how that, social media, was going to create some problems over a decade ago

Thompson is creating problems on the court with her Spring high school team, averaging over 15 ppg while leading or among the leaders in several categories yet none of that matters to me because I have watched this young lady play for a couple of seasons and sometimes numbers lie as I have seen players average 30, 40, even 50 PPG in high school that panned out or did absolutely nothing at the next level

Her powerful scoring off the dribble as well as around the basket are nice, so is her laying it all out by not only taking charges but diving on the floor for loose balls yet her playing the passing lane to a tee always has me smiling, so does her court vision as her unselfishness stands out. Same with her “on the ball” defense yet her mid to long-range shooting is also nice

The first time I saw her playing with her Houston Lady Nets club team, I knew she had the potential to create some problems and she has yet her upside has not been reached so add her to the list
