Texas Phenoms full steam ahead #StateLineBattle
KENYAL PERRY, ASHLEI KIRVEN & PRECIOUS JOHNSON
HOUSTON, TEXAS- The Texas Lady Phenoms have been bringing heat for quite some time and list of players moving on to the next level is long and talented since their first graduating class a few years ago and when you look at the list of 2019’s they have, plenty others are heading that way. The Texas Phenoms 2018 group of players include Taylor Thomas, Amanda Ferry and Halle Jones and all were still in elementary school when I expected big things coming their way and of course, as always, I was correct as they have sent messages for years and speaking of elementary school players, the first time I saw Briauna Johnson I thought the 5th grader was a freshman, so what does that tell you? Leeza Garza’s ability to drop the long ball caught my eye last season while Bre’Lyn Adams just overpowers opponents when she goes into #BeastMode, Jeriah Warren travels from Louisiana, she’s only a freshman and I believe I called her a #D1Lock as a 6th grader while Kenyal Perry, another Louisiana Player that happens to be 6’7 joins 6’5 Precious Johnson from the 2020 class while 2019 Ashlei Kirven, she’s 6’3, gives their squad an imposing front line of Triple Towers
TAYLOR LOWE & JESSICA EPTING
I’ve enjoyed watching Anna Kassim play for years, she and Kaitlyn Davis have gave me plenty of highlights over the years and they are a only a couple of the talented players on Texas Black 2018 squad, physicality from Teagan Brouwer in the paint on both ends while my first look at Jordan Walker this year tells me she’s been putting in work and it showed in big ways as she rebounded strong and went coast to coast numerous times. Haley Wesley all brings it, no matter what and Taylor Lowe left me speechless at times as she put up points in bunches and more importantly, in the flow. I’ll get a chance to catch them again in a couple of weeks, Jessica Epting continues to bring it and while I’m talking about “bringing it” the first time I saw Taniya Gibson I was somewhat speechless at the explosiveness from the then freshman but the 2019 guard has added so much to her repertoire as well as many others throughout the organization that July will seal many deals for an abundance of these young ladies
