Anytime I get to hang with Fonzelle, Speedy, and Maggie, it’s a good time because Fonzelle Martin and Tommy “Speedy” Gregg were out here helping players achieve their next-level dreams way before I came onto the scene and we’ve been friends for over 20 years. Their daughters played D1 basketball and the countless players who have come through the Austin Elite Program read like a Who’s Who of top players to ever suit up in Texas, with many receiving all types of awards as well as playing in the W

Maggie King and her Lady Thunder squad are now part of the Austin Elite program, Austin Elite Lady Thunder and we go back probably 17 years as her oldest daughter, Alexys, was a ball girl for Texas A&M when my daughter played there from 2007-2011 and I’ll never forget her baby saw me at a tournament and asked me to come and see her play and I never stopped looking as she left her mark as being one of the best to play in the BCS and helped College Station HS get on the map and make runs before also playing at the next level

On top of that, all of this was done before social media came along and helped screw things up with misinformation that has many parents scratching their heads trying to figure out what’s real and what isn’t and I mentioned that all three are REAL, and REAL KNOWS REAL

I had a chance to catch up with some PGH Texas Top 100 plus players, Reese Hoadley (Austin Elite RFW) left me speechless with her progression over the past season while Natalie Galvan and Naomi Taylor both were added after AE Lady Thunder showing at the Simmie Colson Classic, I probably would not have ever seen them had they playing somewhere else and Ja’Mya Johnson will get dropped on the 2028 Watchlist tomorrow

Alyvionia Winn walked up to me and told me she had been working on a variety of things and I told her “Yeah I noticed” As she walked off, she turned and said, “I will be on your RANKING” and guess what, she definitely will be soon yet I loved the energy as well as the HART given on both ends, see how I did that
