SMA Shows New Faces #HeartOfTexas
I’ve known SMA Director John Wiseman for years, probably close to 20 and I met him through CF Guillory who assured me he was one of the good guys, she was right. Cynthia is no longer with us yet Brother Wiseman continues to try and help put unknown players on the map and he and the new coach, Jalisha Belle are doing just that, here ya go
Kayli Davis-5’8 G (South Garland) 2026 kept my attention by using her athleticism on both ends, either attacking off the dribble or applying on-the-ball pressure
Khordney Jones-5’8 G (Franklin D Roosevelt) 2027 has some impressive upside starting with she’s a “long and athletic” guard with a very nice first step and attacks from multiple angles. Her body control was solid and she finished after contact. She also played the passing lane
Traci Luckey, Zaryia Johnson, and Madison McCullar are also promising freshmen
Courtney Walker-5’7 G (New Tech High School) read the floor on both ends, yes her court vision was good and she made good decisions yet the intensity she showed on defense was tough as she and fellow 2025 teammates Aniya Davis and Shakala Frazier helped provide leadership and support
Dani Zamora-6’2 C (Bowie) 2026 was imposing inside the paint, on both ends. She used her frame to score around the basket and did a good job rebounding as well as defending yet her “hands and footwork” had me smiling because I love #THROWBACK stuff
Ajah Choice-5’7 G (South Garland) 2026 did a good job defensively both in the set and from baseline to baseline and she also played the passing lane. Her huge block helped change the momentum
Lucille Semien-5’7 G (Adamson) 2026 does a good job of creating her shot to drop the pull-up or attack the basket. She also saw the floor well
Raymia Washington-5’7 G (Lincoln High School and Humanities Communication Magnet) 2026 scored off the dribble and did a good job of defending full court. She also played the passing lane
Avionna Conner and Kayli Davis, both from the 2026 class, round out the squad
