Seven Lakes Inman Tops Area 2013 Players

It doesn’t take me long to recognize potential greatness at a young age and to this day, I have yet to be incorrect. Christen Inman is one of those players I saw before playing in her first high school game and there was something special about this young lady that caught my eye. First, she was simply an amazing athlete who even back then could jump out of the gym. She scored on a variety of ways however she was very unselfish and got her teammates involved however if the game was on the line and she needed to take over, she did just that. Having conversations with her was equally impressive and I didn’t have to read her bio to know  that she was heavy in school and the way she talked and carried herself spoke volumes . I told her dad a few years ago she was a can’t miss and had Top 100 written all over her and of course the others across the country have recognized what I already knew.

Her high school career has been quite remarkable to say the least at Seven Lakes where they are making a run at not only their first district title, but they also have a legitimate shot at going deep in the playoffs, something I predicted they would do after Inman’s freshman season in which she averaged over 15 ppg. The problem during last season was that she had nagging injuries which forced her to miss a quarter of the games and play sparingly in others, but she still managed to average close 17 ppg. This season, she has been on a tear, going over 1000 career points in the opening game while averaging over 20 ppg on the season. Seven Lakes will go as far as she can take them, but the main thing is for her to stay healthy. How good of an athlete is she? Her Sparq rating is only 1.25 behind Atlanta Dream player Angel McCoughtry. Over the next three games, Seven Lakes will have a chance to seal their first district championship by playing Memorial tonight, Katy Taylor on Friday and Cinco Ranch next Friday, the 20th. If they win all three, that just about does it and a playoff run may just find them closer to the R3 Final Four or beyond.
