SETX Grey #simmiecolsonclassic
The Golden Triangle has had some of the top Texas next-level talent since I became involved over a SCORE ago, a score is 20 years, and this special group of 2027/28 players left a lasting impression, here are the STANDOUTS
Paige Judge– I guess her ballhandling and creating her shot got my attention first yet she was poised under pressure and saw the floor. She also scored off the dribble and created contact by attacking the basket. She finished after the lick, had nice body control, and showed she could drop the jumper
Brenna Tillerson is a long and athletic guard that used a deceptive first step to attack the basket. She finished strongly, yes after the lick and she also showed she could rebound, as well as defend. She has quick hands, came away with steals, and also played the passing lane
Kambelle Blackwell also handled the ball under pressure yet watching her grab a rebound and go coast to coast, while being defended, to make the pass or keep it for a basket was nice. Her court vision also stood out in the set as she plays within herself and scored in the flow
Emorie Petrie is “long and athletic” and please remember that is the base. Her intangibles are she plays the passing lane, and has good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots, but she also scores not only around the basket but can handle it in the open court as well as score from the wing off the dribble
Alissa Blue is also long and athletic and to say her “on the ball” defense was smothering would probably be an understatement. She also played the passing lane and attacked the basket from multiple spots, nice upside
NOTABLES
Fallyne Cherry is an athletic guard that plays solid defense. She’s heady and under control and sets the defender up smoothly
Kinley Goodwin uses her athleticism nicely on both ends, she defends, plays the passing lane, and attacked the basket
Peyton Pete attacked the basket strongly each time I got a chance to catch her yet she also finished after contact and hit the boards
Alonii Coward is long and athletic, that’s still the base and her coming out of nowhere to block shots spoke volumes. She also rebounds and has some very nice upside
Rhagan Joubert falls into that hashtag I love, #sizedontmatter because she can play. She was wherever the ball was and created havoc, as well as solid defense but she also saw the floor
