SEC Division Tip Sheet pt 2-Border War 2021

JESSICA GILYARD

Cheyan McDaniel-5’8 W (Griffin BB 2022 Select) created her shot well under pressure and did a good job taking defenders off the dribble to finish. The first step is nice, showed the HEZ as well to get defenders off balance

Jessa Gilyard- 6’0 W (Griffin BB 2022 Select) her size and dexterity had me smiling because she handles the ball in the open court and hit teammates with passes so yeah, she saw the floor but she also could drop the jumper

Shayla Wolford-6’3 PF (Griffin BB 2022 Select) gave me a FLASHBACK of THROWBACKS when she blocked a shot, regrouped, did it again and just for fun, third time was a charm for me. Getting after it is something

Jordan Harrison (Mavs Elite) showed an offensive mix of attacking the rim and finishing after contact as well as knocking down the midrange jumper but she also does a good job creating her shot and her step-back was one of the best at the event

Darlanna Littlepage-Bugg (Mavs Elite) overpowering is a good word to use watching her maneuver inside the paint and when you can score with players literally hanging on you. well you get the picture but she also attacks from the wing to finish and can hit the short jumper and her performance on the boards was very good

Saneea Bailey (MO Phenom 17U Potts) handles the ball under pressure and is under control in the open court with it and she sees the floor, passes are on the money, even in tight situations but she also can attack and finish as well as drop the 3

Jacole Johnson (MO Phenom 17U Potts) not sure of her size but I wrote SDM which is the acronym I use for size don’t matter because she showed she could play, especially under pressure so her attacking and finishing or attacking and dishing create scoring opportunities

Lilly Jackson (MO Phenom 17U POTTS) long and athletic is the base and she rounded several especially playing the passing lane. I also enjoyed how she set defenders up to attack and finish, did a good job on the board also

BROOKLIN BROWN

Brooklin Brown-5’10 SF (Skyrise Edmond) that pull-up jumper looks good in the picture yet it’s even better in person and just watching how she’s worked hard on every aspect of her game speaks volumes. She’s long and athletic, attacks strongly, rebounds and defends, and the way she plays that passing lane ….

Maurdasia Powell-5’11 F (Skyrise Edmond) long and athletic, steadily added more offensive options over the years and seeing her showcase them in Arkansas was a pleasure. She elevates on her jumper, mid to long range and finishes with very good body control

Kenna Gibson-5’7 SG (Skyrise Edmond) unlimited range is the best way to describe how far she can drop it but she’s heady and understands how to be efficient at both the 1 and the 2 s when she’s the open court, she sort of has defenders at her mercy because her court vision is really good

R’Mani Taylor-5’7 PG (Skyrise Edmond) I keep observing things she adds to her game and one thing is how she creates for her teammates to get then easier shots and that’s big especially since she too can score mid to long as well as off the dribble

Aryelle Stevens-6’1 (Skyrise Edmond) when you can finish with either hand in the paint, after contact, that speaks a lot about your strength yet she does it so effortlessly and she’s equally as powerful rebounding the ball and applying pressure defensively

Aniah Wayne-5’9 G (Nebraska Attack 17U) I got a kick out of her rebounding against taller players, positioning works, but she also pushed the ball after grabbing it, and her ability to see the floor in transition was one of the best but she also added a nice jumper and could attack and finish

Lexi Finkenbiner- 5’9 (Nebraska Attack 17U) 2023-rebounded strongly on both ends, yep against taller players but her PUTBACKS was equally as refreshing. Defended inside and outside the paint and ran the floor, on both ends

Khloe Lemon-5’8 G (Nebraska Attack 17U) 2023– her attacking the basket from various angles was the first thing that stood out and seeing her do it under control while being defended was a big plus, so was her finishes

RIAN FORESTIER

Rian Forestier-5’10 SG (Players First 17U) 2024-long and athletic with a pull-up that is very hard to handle. She creates her shot with ease and is always under control plus she attacked and finished as well as saw the floor

Arianna Roberson-6’4 C (Players First 17U) 2024-long and athletic, her UPSIDE is what’s really intriguing because she gets it and I see it coming together as she plays the passing lane, finishes on the inside, rebounded and showed very good timing to alter, deflect and block shots

Vivian Iwuchukwu-6’3 PF (Players First 17U) 2024- all I wrote was BEAST, my first look was a tad over a year ago at a camp in San Antonio and she immediately added to the PGH Watchlist yet I’m watching her progression as she’s finishing with either and grabbing everything off the rim

Sidney Love-5’7 CG (Players First 17U) that midrange jumper in transition is what got her the first Tip Sheet that initial sighting and he has to be one of the best in Texas at getting to her spot, getting her shot off and nailing it and seeing her elevate to drop it is always nice

Carson Dillard-5’7 SG (Shock Gold) one of any long ball shooters on the squad but she creates her shot well under pressure on the flip, applies pressure on defense, on ball baseline to baseline, or in the half court

Halyn Carmack-5’4 PG (Shock Gold) shoots it with confidence yet picks and chooses the right time , in laymen’s terms, she doesn’t force anything, she plays within herself and she understands how to control the tempo

Gracie Campbell-5’9 SF (Shock Gold) mixed it up nicely on the mid to long range jumper yet she also attacks the rim from various angles and having those options keeps defenders on their toes. She rebounds on both ends and defends

Olivia Allen-5’6 PG (Shock Gold) creates her shot off the dribble and the numerous times she left defenders standing still had something to do with that, as well as a deceptive first step but she put the ball in the basket multiple ways

REAGAN CRISP

Reagan Crisp-5’5 PG (THSS Mavs Elite) played the passing lane very well and that led to baskets, so did her attacking off the dribble. She also handles the ball under pressure and sees the floor so dropping the 3 was a bonus

Karrigan Powell-6’0 G (THSS Mavs Elite) pressure galore on this club as she too played the passing lane well but her athleticism on both ends definitely stood out as she created her shot for the pull-up jumper as well as attacking and finishing after contact and that jumper included the long-range

Tangee Gagau-5’8 G (THSS Mavs Elite) like I said, playing the passing lane seemed to be a prerequisite for being o this team but I love seeing it, yet I also enjoyed watching her explode past defenders in the open court as well as the half and she can shoot the long ball

Kenley McCarn (Team 10 17U) put together a nice mix by rebounding on both ends, finishing on put-backs as well as attacking the basket but she also created her shot well, under pressure, and her knocking down both the mid and long-range jumper, even with a hand in her face was very nice

Karsen Edwards (Team 10 17U) good size, showed she had some power by finishing after contact, and that same power was shown as she battled for rebounds. Solid defensive player, even made some good passes

Je’Sani Green-6’0 F (Unity Stars) she has that strong body and she can finish yet I still see UPSIDE in her game which is interesting because she ran the floor after rebounding, even scored on put-backs and she dropped the 3

Ahnica Russell-Brown-5’7 PG (Unity Stars) creates off the dribble to attack and finish or dish but her ability to see the floor in any situation stood out, so did using that same creativity to show the pull-up jumper

OLIVIA JOHNSON

Olivia Johnson-5’7 PG (THSS Mavs Elite) saying she’s athletic would be an understatement and with a picture being worth a thousand words, her elevating and extending on the attack is right there in front of you yet it’s hard to stay in front of her with her first step and ball-handling along with being able to shoot the outside shot

Brittany Harshaw (Wheat State Paul 2022) showed she could attack off the dribble with a nice first step, finished after contact, with both hands and she also dropped the mid to long-range, rebounded, and defended

Aubrey Kierscht (Wheat State Paul 2022) does a good job getting the defender off balance, her HEZ in the open court was really smooth but it gave her options for the pull-up from midrange or attack the basket yet she dropped the long-range as well

Hampton Williams (Wheat State Paul 2022) strong defender, did a good job rebounding on both ends and also blocks shots with force and authority so seeing her finishing inside the paint after contact was no surprise factoring in her strength

Ava Jones (Wheat State Paul 2022) 75 inches you need to e ready to deal with because how can I say this “long and athletic” is definitely the base and from that base she blocks, deflects, and alters shots, she rebounds on both ends of the court, showed nice hands and footwork to finish around the basket and speaking of finishing, she scored on putbacks, after contact
