Rumble In Texas Showcase (WNBA Division)
I said I was going to drop 25 yet after looking at my note and looking over rosters from my boss, Cynthia “CF” Guillory, I decided 25 ain’t enough with all of the talent RUMBLING around the courts at the TBP so I decided to split it up, give the WNBA Division their own and come back with a part 2 because there are so many parts to me starting with NO AGENDA whatsoever, let me drop this right now and I’ll drop the other part later. Keep in mind I was only their Sunday, so here ya go’
2021
C’Andrea Scott-Garrett-5’8 CG (Houston United Hoops) long and athletic, remember that’s the base and SWB, that’s speed with ball, so seeing her attack from the wing and finish after contact or play the passing lane and blow by everyone for baskets was nice, so was the jumper
2022
Ayrana Cleveland-5’8 G/F (SA Lady Hoops Green) takes defenders off the dribble with ease and understands how to use her athleticism well but when she set the defender up for the turnaround jumper, that did it for me. She defends and plays the passing lane and she rebounds
Morgan Henrich-5’9 G/F (SA Lady Hoops Green) attacks strongly, uses her body well and defends but watching her create her shot, under pressure and knock down the mid to long range told me a lot
Danielle Woods-5’6 PG (SA Lady Hoops Green) attacks basket well, understands how to control tempo and saw the floor yet she also did a good job handling the ball under pressure and creating her shot
Gianna Hernandez-5’5 G (SA Lady Hoops Green) okay so she attacked the rim and scored after contact then played the passing lane, got the steal and scored after contact yet B2B threes, after contact…….
Kaitlyn Abair-5’10 (Louisiana Lady Aces) long and athletic, that’s one of the profiles I start with because it gives her several advantages like playing the passing lane and attacking from various angles, not to leave out her rebounding and blocking shots plus she has UPS
Carryn Guidry-5’7 PG (Houston United Hoops) sees the floor well, understands how to control the tempo and can take defenders with either hand off the dribble as well as hot the stop and pop yet she also BATTLES for rebounds and loose balls
Kemya Reece-5’8 CG (Houston United Hoops) acrobatics galore is the easiest way to describe her game because her body control, ability to defy gravity, elevation and explosiveness off the dribble make her hard to handle, in the open court, forget about it just get back and try and defend
Maleigha Jackson-5’10 PF (Houston United Hoops) college ready body right now, doesn’t mind physicality either giving or taking but she rebounds strongly on both ends of the court and finishes after contact
Daviyanna Jones-5’8 G (SA Lady Hoops Platinum) attacks the basket strongly, understands how to use her athleticism yet also understands how to set the defender up and she elevates on her jumper and knocks it down
Anissa Matta-5’4 G (SA Lady Hoops Platinum)creates her shot under pressure attacks basket strongly and sees the floor yet does a good job at reading the defense and understands when to switch
Macey Hein-5’7 G (SA Lady Hoops Platinum) played the passing lane very well which is something I truly enjoy seeing yet I also enjoy pull-up jumpers and she definitely showed she could drop it under pressure
2023
Sophie Geiser-5’3 PG (Louisiana Lady Aces)more of a combo guard, yeah she can control the tempo and handle the ball but her pull-up jumper as well as attacking and finishing after contact stood out
Nya Miller-5’3 G (Louisiana Lady Aces) speedy guard that can get to the rim off the dribble and finish multiple ways, that speaks volumes at her size yet turn the music up because she plays that passing lane well
Lakyla McSwain-5’6 PG (DC Queens FW) if you here her voice and observe her mannerisms while talking with her, you would never know she’s a silent assassin on the court, I think I said that 4 years ago yet the baby is all grown up and watching her explode down the court for baskets or throwing no looks made me smile, and that jumper yet she still has that voice
Taniyah Edwards-F (DC Queens FW) I love seeing players that battle for everything off the rim yet she did one better and just went after everything period, this includes on the floor and in the stands but she also finished strongly attacking the basket and on putbacks
Darah Stewart -5’10 SF (Team Stay Ready) I love saying talent is everywhere and I wish I could say that her upside is impressive, well I can say it yet she was impressing me as soon as she stepped on the floor. She too is long and athletic, her timing is very good and she found ways to score
