OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma- The 2017 Battle at the Hive proved once again to be a great tune-up for getting the club basketball season rolling and the host team, Oklahoma Swarm continues to grow in both teams and talent. Since I covered the 2020 squad back at Prime Time Nationals almost three years ago, I knew that several of these young ladies had next level and beyond potential and although some of the names have changed, the ones I initially saw are on track.
I missed the Levings sisters, Kendra and Katelyn, who were on a church retreat this weekend however I found out Katelyn has joined older sister Kendra on the Swarms top squad and as I stated in that story three years ago, BCS schools have already made offers to this talented young lady.
Rylee Langerman simply blew me away this weekend, she gets to the rim with ease and that midrange was definitely clicking but I think more than anything else that was the intensity and energy she brought on both ends of the floor
Katie King, another “size don’t matter” guard is simply tough as nails and she’s added a deadly step back from bta that was simply clicking every time I saw her play. King plays within herself, makes the right decisions and just gets the job done

Alice Stevenson showed me back in the day that she was an ultra-athletic basketball player with tremendous upside however her work is showing because she’s a basketball player that happens to be ultra-athletic. She is showing signs of brilliance by doing the unimaginable and her ability to hang around the rim and score as well as create off the dribble is definitely art
Jenni Beebe runs the floor and finishes well and on top of that plays D and speaking of D, Mykah Parrish is simply all over the place creating havoc but she’s definitely a sparkplug that can turn things around
Baylee Fincher is another Swarm layer that can knock down the long ball, I’ve seen her Olivia Clayton and Lexie Davis numerous times and they simply fill in many of the blanks which has helped the squad continue to be successful despite losing Levings
Graycen Holden definitely has the right last name because she was “Holden” down the middle and at 6’2, I think her ability to face the basket and score was more impressive than her hands, footwork, and ability to finish and rebound
With over 100 teams in 8 divisions as well as a program that has tripled in size, from 8 to I think 26, in just a couple of seasons tells you something but this Basketball at the Hive was definitely “SWARMing with talent”
