Oklahoma GOC 16U Solid with Upside
I’m closing out my trip from McAlester with the big girls and to say there’s plenty of next-level potentials as well as the upside is only the beginning yet I’ll be seeing them at some point on the PGH circuit and remember, I’m always looking for progression so here ya go
Mady Wolfenbarger
Wolfenbarger did a good job of attacking the rim and she did it forcefully yet under control, finishing after contact yet she also showed she could create her shot, under pressure, as well as knock down the outside shot. She plays hard, she plays smart but even more importantly, she plays within herself, and watching her get after it on defense was nice
Allie Scruner
Scruner showed a variety of ways to get to the rim, especially in the open court where she used the HEZ, Hezzie, or hesitation, whichever works for you yet that wasn’t the only move that worked for her as the crossover was very smooth as well as her body control coupled with acrobatic finishes. She plays the passing lane and her pull-up jumper was nice as well
Kali Madden
Madded has “crafty” written by her name, I seldom use that word when evaluating unless something just grabs me and yes, she does a very good job of setting the defender up multiple ways. Her first step sort of “sets it off” as she uses it wisely and effectively to get to the rim and finish, after contact, however she can dish off the dribble as well as see the floor in the set
Mollie Bain
Bain absorbs pain on the inside however it’s irrelevant because she fin dishes strongly after contact and that’s because she’s strong and understands how to use her body, nice hands, and footwork help as well, but she boxes out, she rebounds on both ends, finishes on putbacks, and she sees the floor nicely and the midrange is just icing on the cake
Emma Roberts
Roberts has HUSTLES in caps and observing her going after the ball on the floor as well as off the rim was part of it, her reading the defense and playing the passing lane was another yet so was her timing for steals, on the ball, as well as blocking shots yet I also enjoyed her attacking the basket hard and finishing after contact, plus she sees the floor well
Isabel Alberda
Alberda just made things happen on both ends and her “never takes a play off” mindset was huge, especially on defense as she created turnovers to go along with playing the passing lane but on the flip, she understands how to get to the basket and finish off the dribble, multiple times was the giveaway, and when you factor she sees the floor well, there it is
Jada Ponce
Ponce showed a very deceptive first step to get the defender leaning and she did it from multiple angles but her finishes were nice, with either hand from either side yet her athleticism also stood out on the defensive end as she showed she could apply baseline to baseline pressure yet she created her shot and showed she could drop the jumper too
Jacie Crenshaw
Crenshaw was very “vocal” on the court, which gets a #THROWBACK hashtag and that wasn’t all as she created her shot numerous times under pressure, to either the jumper or attacking the rim, her first step isn’t anything to take lightly, and she finishes after contact plus she also does a good job defensively, calling the switch and understanding how to trap
Dacie Graham
Graham arrived late and made her presence felt almost immediately as she did a good job at running the 1, that’s where the game starts, so she’s heady, controls the tempo, and understands how to set the defender up to take off the dribble yet her court vision was nice, her ballhandling under pressure was also nice and she showed she could drop the jumper
