Mustangs ready for ride

Cy Ranch started with a bang and showed signs of not only winning their district, the toughest in the city, but making a deep run in the playoffs, possibly going all the way to Austin. One thing I always remind people is that to make a run, several things must happen and one thing that can kill a team is injuries and when you look at losing Sydney Coleman, one of the top players in the state, Ashley O’Block, one of the top three point shooters in the state and Kara Cezar, one of the top sixth men in the state, you can see what happens at the blink of an eye. Coleman and Cienna Rivera are the lone starters returning from opening day last season, Rivera solidified her status last season as one of the top point guards in the state and after recently committing to Louisiana-Lafayette, this senior heavy team is ready to go out with a bang and I do mean bang. Expect Rachel Tapps to come in off the top and pay dividends along with Taylor Hunter, two of the top 2016 players in the area and get ready for the babies, Deauzya Richards and Arianna Whitfield from that monster 2017 class. A healthy Mustang team will give Woods a run in the district and who knows how deep they can go, the main thing is getting there
