McElroy’s improvement moves her up the 2016 ladder
Something I continue to promote is progression and when you talk about moving up the ladder, this young lady continues to climb. Kiarra McElroy is in her third season with the Houston Insiders and her maturity is speaking volumes on the court. After moving up to varsity at Cy Falls, McElroy quickly made a name for herself in the toughest district in Region 3. She’s started her club season off with a bang and has put up numbers galore along the way in fact she played a huge role in helping her team win the Prime Time Qualifier over the past weekend. Always a good three point shooter, she’s now becoming much better than good and to top that off, she has probably converted more four point plays this season alone than any player has that I’ve personally watched over the years, in fact she had at least seven opportunities in this tournament. McElroy doesn’t mind trying new things and since she’s mastered the long ball, the all-important mid-range seems to be next and trust me if she sets her mind on doing something, it’s going to happen as season after season she’s added something to her game. Not only is she a scoring threat, she rebounds extremely well for her size as simply understands the basic concept of boxing out. I mentioned her knack for converting the quad, she also takes charges as well as anyone in the area and her work ethic is second to none. Not only has she expanded her game, she’s also expanding her value as far as playing at the next level, keep in mind she’s only a 2016 and her ceiling is as high as her accuracy
