Kenner Angels Show Will To Win

When you talk about GBB in Louisiana over the years, the name Kenner Angels is synonymous with success and that success went to a different level this year as they won the 16U AAU Nationals Championship. With so many top teams playing at Basketball on the Bayou, I didn’t have a chance to see a lot of the Angels action however I did catch them against the Duncanville Pantherettes and like I’ve stated in the past, it didn’t take me long to see what they were capable of along with how talented their team was

Amber Donnes showed she could do a number of things while playing multiple positions and she appeared to be one of those players that will simply outwork you play after play and her toughness is second to none. I already had known a little about Paige Hall after seeing her with her high school team St Thomas More in the Sandra Meadows Classic back in the December. She helped lead her high school to back to back state titles and showed she was a key reason for the Angels success as well, she has also committed to Tulane

Maggie Proffitt seemed unconscious against the Pantherettes as it seemed like every time I looked up, she was dropping a basket from just every spot on the floor. In order to be successful, you always need a shooter. In order to go far as the Angels did, not only at AAU Nationals but they also put together a strong performance at BOB as well, you need a shooter that can score

The buzz on Kaitlyn Pratt is she’s hardworking yet hasn’t reached her full potential which is scary after watching her in the video below. As you can see, she does several things very well right now such as run the floor and finishing in the paint, that in itself will do a lot of damage if you’re caught slipping and her dominance in the AAU finals helped secure that victory.

The game starts at the, well you should know this by now, but if you’re a first time reader, it actually starts at the one and losing a player like Di’Mond Jackson could have spelled disaster for the Angels season. This is where 2014 Kolby Morgan stepped up to play out of position when Jackson tore her ACL. I was surprised to learn Morgan had never played point as she looked at ease the time I saw her. She also looked at ease on the defensive end, well that’s an understatement as she, as well as all the Angels looked pretty darn good period
