I-10 Basketball Showcase is a HIT
ERANESHIA CARMENEAR
HOUSTON, Texas- After being out the past two weekends, I’ve had a chance to see some very talented players, a few I already knew about last weekend at the Clutch City Classic and a few more this weekend at the inaugural I-10 Basketball Showcase and for those players that I already knew about, one thing I’m always looking for is progression as well as consistency, okay that’s two things, but when parents and players truly understand the process on what it takes to get to the next level, that helps along the way. I saw several talented UNSIGNED players including Destiny Navarro and Alexzine Andrepoint at the Lady Phenoms I-10 Basketball Showcase as well as numerous players on the rise so I picked a few for the ever so important GPR Tip Sheet
2017
Eraneshia Carmenear (Texas Elite Phenoms) talented guard with amazing athleticism that does several things quite well I love to see. She creates her shot and can elevate over defenders and attacks the baseline extremely well and that hang time often puts her in and-one waiting to happen situations. Good defender and still has upside
Tyrionne Martin (Louisiana Lady Pumas Black) sometimes faces tend to look familiar but after she drove pulled up for a 25 footer, I definitely remembered her. That stroke is something, mid or long range but she can get to the rim with ease and she also hustles on every play. Topping all that off is her decision making which is good
Karen Simien (TJ Ford) my first real good look at the talented guard showed me she was definitely an offensive threat as scored a three, a two and an and-one opportunity in a little over a minute. Physical on both ends, doesn’t shy from contact and plays with passion, did I mention she could score
MIYA CRUMP
2018
Miya Crump (Houston Hoops) I used hashtag EFFORTLESSLY because she simply lets the game come to her and can take over whenever she wants. The offensive tools she possesses at this stage will garner legitimate BCS consideration; she’s long and athletic and plays the passing lane like an All Pro tight end
Deziree White (Cy Fair Showcase) has that extra gear that adds even more to her explosive game. White is one of those players that can do some amazing things in the open court but her ability to slice her way past defenders is just natural along with a nice midrange game and an improved long range
Zayla Thomas (HIO) that body made me stop and take a look and what she did in the paint kept me watching. You don’t have the finished product but she’s definitely a college player in the making, bangs on both ends in the paint, good hands, runs the floor and even more importantly, can finish
2019
Anna Kasim ( Lady Phenoms) when you open it up with back to back 25 footers, I’m definitely going to dissect your game so peep this, her age and body along with her skill set tells me she’s going to be good as she wants to, this is no joke. Can handle the ball in the open court and passes well, plus she rebounds and defends
