Houston United Group #simmiecolsonclassic

The Houston United group was well represented and here are some of their standouts from the Middle School Competitive Division. Isabelle Rodriguez and Mariah Macken from Houston United Matt made my The Babies Are Coming drop on Prep Girls Hoops but here are some of the others

HOUSTON UNITED MATT

Gracie Moya (2028) showed she could handle the ball under pressure as well as attack the basket strongly to score or dish yet her court vision in transition was also nice

Kaylee Doss (2028) used her frame around the basket, on both ends yet I also enjoyed her defense, both in and outside the paint plus she hit the boards on both ends. Nice upside

Kayla Orta (2028) #40 is heady and plays within herself yet she did something I don’t see enough of and that was “followed her shot”. She also has a deceptive first step to attack the basket and score plus she rebounds and handles the ball in transition

Houston United LP

Mikayla Garza (2028) has some nifty upside to go along with being an athletic guard who uses her athleticism on both ends. She did a good job creating her shot to attack the basket or drop the jumper

Jazlyn Harris (2028) also did a good job using her body on both ends of the court. She understands positioning, which helped her rebound on both ends and she showed she could score around the basket as well as off the dribble
