LEIGHYAH ALLEN

Carly Burgoyne [2028] used her athleticism on both ends, whether she was attacking the basket strongly or applying baseline-to-baseline pressure, she kept her energy level high

Maggie Johnson also did a good job defending but her on-the-ball pressure helped create turnovers. She also attacked the basket from multiple angles and saw the floor

Dahyah Allen handled the ball under pressure and saw the floor the same way yet her court vision in the open court as well as in the set told me a lot. She also created her shot nicely but that “change of pace” in the open court was smooth

Leighyah Allen created her shot under pressure and got it off while being defended. She also showed the pull-up jumper in transition and played the passing lane well

Rayn Frazier is “long and athletic” and I always emphasize that’s the base. She reacts well on both ends, she did a good job defending in and outside the paint and she showed she could take the defender off the dribble

Payton Ross played more than solid defense, in fact, her “on the ball” pressure was smothering and she did it baseline to baseline. She also did a good job setting the defender up to get to the basket as well as attacking and finishing strongly

Addisyn Sanford grabbed my attention immediately with her “quick hands” as well as lateral movement on defense. She’s heady, saw the floor, and understood how to get hers “in the flow”

Kayla Cortez enjoyed playing defense and she showed it by applying baseline-to-baseline pressure. She helped force the trap, she read the switch and she played within herself
