GPR 2013 March Fest Tip Sheet on “The Youngstas”
2017 Taylah Thomas
When you see a variety of young players throughout a tournament, such as the BigTyme March Fest, that has talented young players who not only can play, but truly understand the little things, that it makes it even easier for me.
2017
Cameron Huddleson-point guard-DFW Diamonds
Since we all know, or should know the game starts at the one, Huddleson’s athleticism and quickness enabled her to maneuver out of tight situations and give her teammates open looks and also create opportunities for herself
Taylah Thomas-5-11-wing, post-Arlington Lady Jazz
Thomas is 5’11, long and athletic, already plusses before she suits up I high school. What also places her in a very good situation is she understands certain things at a young age. She has tremendous upside and that’s a great situation to be in
2018
Jhakya Dilworth-5-11 wing-DFW Elite 2018
I’ve already said from top to bottom this program is loaded and with several stars from each class, it’s always hard to choose just one because on “Any Given Sunday” it could be anybody. This particular Sunday, Dilworth was sometimes electrifying as I observed the potential this young lady has. I always love players that under the concept of igniting fast breaks and with her athleticism, I’m sure much more will be coming
Mariah Jones-5-6 point guard-Texas Preps Elite 2019
This young team is loaded also loaded and the two times I watched them, each player did something to catch my eye. Jones showed she could run a team and also anticipate plays before they happen which is one of those things you can’t teach
2019
Peyton Gore-5-7 guard-Oklahoma Select 2019
This kid is a baller and she knows the game and also showed the ability to put her team on her back. She knows how to get to the rack and draw fouls and can stroke it from midrange, long range, out of range
Peyton Hicks-5-4 point guard-Lady Jets 2019
Hicks’ was simply all over the place on both ends of the court and her intensity level was up every time I watched her play. She’s another young guard that can get where she wants to on offense and finish under heavy traffic
2020
Deja Kelly-5-6 guard-Soth Texas Hoyas
The jump Kelly has made from the Young Guns Camp tells me I’ve called another one right and although the fifth grader was playing against young ladies about to enter or already in high school, like Bonecrusher she was“Never Scared”
