Game Elevators-17U Varsity Division #AllEyesOnShe
Making jumps and showing progression are things that I love to see from players and several of the players I have taken their games to another level, here are a few.
Ella Nixon-6’0 F (Phoenix Platinum) continues to show more aggressiveness on both ends and her finishing off the dribble after contact stood out, along with her battling for the ball off the rim. She also did a good job defending outside the paint but her midrange was clicking too
Abigail Williams-6’2 P (Phoenix Platinum) has made one of the biggest jumps since last season, her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots is up, and she’s also going AFTA everything off the rim yet her interior defense as well as finishing around the basket looked very good
Caeleigh Rogers-5’10 F (Phoeniz Platinum) falls into that “silent assassin” category because she can hurt opposing teams numerous ways and when you look at how she fills up a stat sheet afterward, you’ll get it. She creates and elevates on her jumper, she finishes strongly after contact but her defense and playing the passing lane were nice
Zoey Miller-5’5 G (Phoenix 2025) is one of those players who can come in and change the momentum from both ends of the court starting with her “on the ball” pressure yet her scoring off the dribble as well as knocking down jumpers, with a hand in her face continues to get better
Cadence Williams-6’0 G (Phoenix 2025) has made one of the best transformations in her class and after seeing her go from a back-to-the-basket player to a big guard who can drop the jumper from mid to long-range. She also is doing a good job defensively and playing the passing lane
Korina Garcia-5’9 PG (SAHE JK) is shifty with the ball and her slight HEZ got the defender off balance so she could attack off the dribble and score or dish yet her court vision across the board was nice. She also created her shot on the perimeter and dropped the jumper with a hand in her face
Emily Lopez-6’0 F (SAHE JK) mixed it up nicely by showing she could rebound and handle the ball afterward, at times going coast to coast to score or dish but she also saw the floor in the set. She used a deceptive first step to attack and finish, her pull-up jumper was solid and she played the passing lane
Abby Burdette-5’10 G (SAHE JK) did a good job of not only creating her shot under pressure but knocking it down under pressure. Her pull-up jumper in the set was nice, and her stop-and-pop jumper in transition was nice yet watching her show she could “catch and shoot” had me smiling
Jordan Elk-5’10 G (SAHE ES) grabbed my attention at a camp a few years ago and after losing track of her, it was good to see her showing her mid to long-range jumper was even more effective while being defended. Her range has gotten deeper, she’s also scoring and finishing after contact better
Rosanelly Pastrano-5’7 PG (SAHE ES) is dazzling with the ball and her no-look passes in transition are always a treat. She even gave me the “behind the back” pass going full speed but she can score off the dribble, drop the jumper, and play the passing lane
Carly Reyes-5’6 PG (SAHE ES) also showed the behind-the-back pass, in traffic but her ballhandling under pressure and ability to see the floor, under pressure was solid. She scored off the dribble, her crossover in the set as well as in the open court was also nice plus she threw the “no-look”
Syrie Nicolas-6’0 F (SAHE ES) used her frame nicely inside the paint, on both ends. She did a good job rebounding and getting the outlet going, she also defended strongly both in and outside the paint and she showed the “hands and footwork” to score around the basket
