First Look At 2029 Kaci Baker

The deeper I get into it, the more I see how this 2029 class is developing into a strong and deep group with a variety of talent at multiple positions. I caught 6’1 Kaci Baker, who plays for Southwest Select National Boyd 15U, and when you factor in her 77-inch wingspan right before she enters her first season at Lone Oak High School, her potential as well as upside is intriguing

She scores around the basket, giving me a glimpse of the “hands and footwork” I love seeing, and she understands how to use her frame inside the paint. However, her going after the ball off the rim and scoring on putbacks was nice, and yes, she rebounds on both ends. She keeps the ball high and understands the importance of getting the outlet going, she also runs the floor on both ends

Her skillset had me smiling as she has a soft touch facing the basket to drop it, also her midrange was nice, but watching her “follow her shot” and just as importantly, she does things instinctively, and showed she could defend both in and outside the paint. Her court vision across the board looks good, so does her timing to block, alter, and/or defelct shots, so I can’t wait to catch her “on the court” progression over the years
