Duncanville ahead of everyone
ARIEL ATKINS & KIARA PERRY
Duncanville came to town for the Texas Invitational ready to take on some of top teams from not only the Houston area but the state as well, just like last year however the difference in what they did last year and this year is that they seem to be clicking on all cylinders earlier than before. The Pantherettes look as if they are in playoff form right now, either that or everyone else is playing catch-up, as they captured their second consecutive Texas Invitational title defeating Bellaire in the Gold Championship final . With an imposing starting five that includes their “Big Three” of Tasia Foman, Ariel Atkins and Kiara Perry, they are simply the best team I’ve seen so far this season and as good as they were last season, it’s scary to believe this squad could be better. With Antonia Robinson coming into her own at the post position, this team has everything they need to win another title. They can score from multiple positions, they all defend and not only does everyone know their roles, they also know and understand the game but the true icing on the cake is how unselfish this team is. I said last season’s squad was the best high school team I had ever seen from Texas, it’s early but that may change once it’s all said and done.
