Dominique Dillingham set the bar
HOUSTON, Texas- I just wrote an article about how teary eyed I was getting after watching the state finals between Cy Ranch and Clear Springs because several of those players had caught my eye in middle school and after building a rapport with them over the years, I was happy yet sad, if that makes any sense, as they begin the transition to the next level.
Then it hit me after something from Dominique Dillingham’s dad flashed by and I really almost cried, for real. Check this out, I caught this kid playing for HTX when she was 10 or 11and right off the top I knew she had something special because she dove after loose balls, knew how to box out and loved to play defense. I know a lot of parents are paying a lot of money for training or whatever nowadays but that in itself is definitely a lost art.
Dillingham continued to improve and excel and let me say this, I have NEVER seen a player that worked harder than she did throughout her career and I’m talking about not just Klein Collins but now at Mississippi State where she stars and has made ALL SEC
Dominique played hurt, came back sooner than anticipated and just simply put her team on her back during her senior season after they lost Veja Hamilton and everyone counted them out but not @DeeSquared21as she simply rises to the occasion and loves to prove people wrong but to top all of that off, she never complains and is one of the most genuine and humble people you’ll ever meet. Let me stop now before I really cry but it’s definitely been a pleasure as she heads to yet another next level
