Dekaney Doubters In Disbelief

DEKANEY’S BRIANNA TAYLOR, ALEXIS DURLEY & SHUNTA NEVITT

Dekaney’s biggest problem has been keeping players healthy when it counts. The season before last Madeline Ali and last season Brianna Taylor, this led to two early exits from the playoffs. Now everyone is almost where they need to be as the Wildcats have not only made their first Regional Final 4, they are riding the longest winning streak in the state at 37. In their last game, they survived multiple players being in foul trouble against Atascocita and won that game despite double digit points from Curtyce Knox and Rachel Arthur. Now they have to face Desoto and I’ve said this before, if any team matches up well with Dekaney it’s the Eagles and their backcourt tandem of Jordan Jones and Bryce Owens will apply pressure baseline to baseline so this game could go one of three ways. Dekaney or Desoto could win in a close one or Dekaney can be on and win a blowout, needless to say it’s been a remarkable run for both so far
