Cy Fair vs Westside

CY FAIR VS WESTSIDE

The game itself was pretty much how I expected it. Lot’s of pressing, lot’s of transition and lot’s of excitement. What I didn’t expect was the turnovers, over forty between the teams and  the fouls, also over forty, in fact both teams were in the bonus before the end of the first quarter. Cassie Peoples was simply unstoppable, scoring 17 of Cy Fair’s 22 points in the first half as Cy Fair led 22-21

Cy Fair opened the game up in the third quarter, with a 9-0 run to give them some breathing room and at one point was up 36-23. One thing about Westside is that that they don’t give up and they cut the gap down to five in the fourth quarter, however Peoples was ice down the stretch as Cy Fair held on to win. I don’t know how many she finished with, but it had to be in the thirties. It was an awesome offensive performance by the future Texas Longhorn, in fact one of the best I have seen in a long time. The Wolves were without guard Tiffany Davis who is just returning from volleyball and the team should have a different look once she returns..

Cy Fair has made it to the Regional Final Four seven straight years, the State Final Four four straight years and have two State Championships, they know what it takes however for them  to make a serious run this season, they will need to find some offense from someone other than Peoples. Westside plays hard nose in your face defense which at times has been described as chaotic, however it makes things happen. I love action, so  I enjoyed game and I look forward to seeing both teams in the future.
