Bellaire vs Bush closes out #GirlsTXJamboree

TAMERA GULLEY & PEIGHTON PORTER

HOUSTON, Texas-The Girls Texas Jamboree closed with a couple of teams who have a legitimate shot at representing Region 3 in the state basketball tournament which will be held in San Antonio .  5A Bush has already showed they can compete with some of the top 6A schools, this is always a good sign while Bellaire has some key ingredients that were missing from last season’s squad and with those players on the court now, the Cardinals definitely could be flying high after their 63-47 victory

This was my second look at Fort Bend Bush, the Broncos are still without key players Taylor Perry and Asia Nolan and once they are back in the mix, this team will look even better. They’re looking pretty good right now, Tamera Gulley and Daizha Norris, who scored 18, are a couple of highly underrated Texas kids that simply went off over the summer while India Lloyd keeps proving  #sizedontmatter. Beatrice Miller, Emily Casler and Pace Ohanta help fill in many of the blanks and again, when this team is completely healthy, remember what I said

DAE DAE EVANS

Donnashean Evans thought I forgot about the Cardinals, I rarely forget anything especially watching her before high school and knowing she definitely had a shot at playing D1 ball, she signed with A&M Corpus Christi. Evans, along with 6’3 Mya Hollingshed, couldn’t play varsity last season and just with those two, they automatically are the frontrunners for a district title however Ireneshia Johnson is back and with Johnson, a young lady I tabbed mid to BCS as a freshman, all bets are completely off because she is an absolute BEAST.

Peighton Porter always brings excitement and energy, great athleticism and wingspan and when you picture her, Johnson and Hollingshed, ain’t a lot of rebounds for their opponents, I’m telling you they are going to get after it, Hollingshead scored 12 for the Cardinals. Although it was cold outside, the heat from Keejah Dibrell and Natara Burton combined with the acrobatics from Evans. who lead all scorers with 21, I had me take my jacket off
