Austin Elite pipeline in good shape

The Austin Elite organization continues to flourish and after a very successful senior class achieved their dreams of playing at the next level, the future continues to be bright. At the Tyrone Johnson Showcase, Austin Elite RFW played DFW Elite T-Jack in the championship game in the Varsity Elite Division but came up short while Austin Elite Black withstood everything the Houston Lady Roadrunners threw at them to win the Varsity Open title. These two teams will have numerous young ladies playing at the next level and I’ve had a chance to watch most of them since their freshman season. Both teams did well at Boo Williams and this tournament showed me they are more than ready for the July heat and I’m talking on and off the court.
With young players from RFW returning like Charlyn Perry and Kennedy Harris, both from the 2015 class, along with Tia Hairston, one of the top 2016 players in the state, that forms a nice nucleus. Then you have Maddie Anderson (2015), Lexi Cunningham (2016) and Sianne Johnson (2017) from the Black team, this tells you that their pipeline is in good shape, especially when you throw in they had teams finish first and third in the 8th Grade Division Another enjoyable and entertaining Tyrone Johnson Showcase closes and I can’t wait until next season’s event because I know one thing, basketball from that area is in very good shape
