Ashley Bettis

Last season Channelview was looking to having back to back runs to the Region 3 Elite 8, however an overtime loss to Elkins stopped them from making it. A large part of their success has to do with a very versatile player in Ashley Bettis. Bettis is one of those kids that will do the little things you don’t always see in the box score, but she makes things happen and she makes others around her better. This season Ashley will be called upon to be the go to player at Channelview and they may be in the running to make another run. She has made All District every year she has been in high school and also one of the team leaders in every category.

I asked Channelview Coach Kim Lockett what she thought about Ashley and she said “Ashley is a great player with natural talent. She is a versatile player who can play any position on the floor. She is what I call a silent assassin. Though quiet by nature, she is intense, motivated, and has a tremendous drive to win. Ashley is a four year varsity letterman, who has made a huge contribution to the Channelview Lady Falcon Basketball program during her tenure. She is the type of player who makes everyone around her better. She has verbally committed to Stephen F. Austin University, where she would like to play collegiate basketball while pursuing a degree in General Business”.
