All Eyes On She-HS Division Tip Sheet
This division gave me a jump on some of the talented young players entering high school and to say I was overwhelmed with players who have next-level potential would definitely be an understatement. I truly appreciate those organizations that turned in rosters because the time I would spend trying to find out who a player is, is time I’m missing watching players, so that’s one of the many reasons I don’t ask so here are the standouts
Gabryela Galvan (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) all I can say is wow because her variety of offensive skills is going to create some problems for defenders starting with she “creates her shot” under pressure to attack or drop the midrange, yet she also sees the floor
Zara’Nique Neely (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) explosive off the dribble, finishes strong and this includes after contact yet her “UPS” helps her rebound against taller players yet her attacking and finishing showing good body control was nice, so was her defense and playing passing lane
Kamilla Sosa (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) heady players who play with themselves are always going to get #THROWBACK attached yet she saw the floor and made pinpoint passes on the money for assists and scored either attacking or from outside
Madison Borjas (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) what’s that hashtag I love #sizedontmatter when you can play and she definitely has added clutch and pressure into the mix as she’s one of the best long ball shooters in the state, a solid defender, sees the floor and just keeps getting better
Kayla King (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) poise at this stage is truly impressive and can fill up a stat sheet so she arrived after literally getting off a plane from out of town to help them win the championship. Mid to long-range, off the dribble, rebounds, and defends, King will be Queen, trust me
Sayler Bourland (Centex Attack) attacks the rim and finishes strongly after contact, she did this by creating her shot off the dribble yet her ability to create also enabled her to knock down some outside shots
Hope Edwards (Centex Attack) saw her a few years ago, no roster, yet I knew she wasn’t an imposter and watching her elevate on her jumper for baskets numerous times, attacking and finishing had already sold me yet “the move” was the highlight of the event as she blew by one defender, whisked the ball behind her back, not touching the floor, to change hands and score was a definite BIG GIRL move as she is only a 2025
Bella Edwards (Hoop 10 Flight) impressed me off the top by creating her shot and showing the jumper, a solid pull-up and she did it from both mid to long-range yet she also does a good job at taking the defender off the dribble and finishing, this includes after contact. Good upside
Jordan Hendricks (Hoop 10 Flight) attacks basket strongly and under control plus she finishes, yep, after contact but she also battles for rebounds, this includes both ends of the court and she came up with several putbacks over taller players
Veronica Lopez (CTX Lady Knights 16U) two things, she rebounds well on both ends and she keeps the ball high definitely stood out but she also runs the floor and did a good job finishing around the rim
Maddie Tapia (CTX Lady Knights 16U) showed she could handle ball, went coast to coast for baskets but she also did something else well and that was see the floor as she hit teammates for scoring opportunities
Ally Ihler (Centex Attack) does a nice job of attacking the basket yet she can mix it up and knock down the midrange with the pull-up jumper so when you add those together…
Avery Hamby (CE Elite 2024 White) loved watching her create her shot because she already understands the “how and the when” and watching her let it go from deep was really nice. Her form and release as well as accuracy gives her an edge yet she also can put it on the floor for the midrange or attack
Kiara Wallace (CE Elite 2024 White)-her pull-up jumper in transition was very nice and it’s good to have especially when the ball is being pushed yet she showed she could knock it down in the half-court set, mid to long-range
Ansley Reed (CE Elite 2024 White) love her upside, she plays within herself and understands how to get hers in the flow but observing her taking defenders off the dribble to score or dish was nice
Abbey Leving (DC Queens SA) long and athletic, she is a BATTLER on the inside and finished strongly, this includes putbacks and both after contact but she also stepped outside the paint to score or attack from the wing
Gabby Victorino (DC Queens SA) has all of the tools to be a SCORER and to the novice, that means one simple thing, she finds ways to put the ball into the basket and that, combined with her upside will have me watching her progression
